As usual, Li Xiangdong stored all hundred or so wooden boxes into his ring. He carefully searched the surrounding area once more, but found no other valuable treasures. By then, it was already 10:00 PM on the third day. Li Xiangdong directed the research vessel to surface, found an uninhabited rocky islet, put away the ship, set up a folding chair, and took a long, deep breath of the fresh air. Only then did he realize that, after several consecutive days of intense excitement, his mind was somewhat exhausted. Lying alone on a dark, barren islet, smelling the faint scent of sea salt in the air, and listening to the gentle sound of waves lapping against the rocks, Li Xiangdong felt incomparably free and relaxed—and, of course, felt a modest sense of fulfillment after securing the treasure.
