Chapter 11

Hearing his disciple's shout, Kaishan Zhenren was quite surprised. Clearly, he had seen his disciple leave Rhino Mountain; how could he have returned now?
Just as Kaishan Zhenren was feeling puzzled and bewildered, Black Sha roared and charged forward, shouting, "Old thief Kaishan, prepare to meet your maker!"
Before the words had even faded, the sword in Black Sha's left hand thrust straight toward the center of Kaishan Zhenren's brow, while the sword in his right hand launched a covert sneak attack aimed directly at Kaishan Zhenren's Dantian.
It was clear that Black Sha's dual-sword attack was intended to secure victory in a single move, striving to end the old thief's life as quickly as possible so that he could return to claim credit and receive his reward, thereby fulfilling Old Master Hou's long-held wish.
Seeing Black Sha unleash his ultimate technique, Kaishan Zhenren was far from flustered. After all, he was a battle-hardened veteran; what kind of top-tier moves hadn't he witnessed?
Back when he entered official circles following Lord Wu, he was considered a prominent and influential figure. Otherwise, why would the Black and White Fiends have come looking for him to fight to the death?
Now, facing Black Sha's ultimate technique, he dared not be careless and had to fight fire with fire in response.
Just as Kaishan Zhenren was fully engaged with Black Sha, White Sha also lunged forward wielding a pair of maces, fiercely targeting the back of Kaishan Zhenren's head and spine.
Seeing this, Wuming was startled. He hadn't expected the Black and White Fiends to employ such insidious tactics, launching a coordinated front-and-rear pincer attack to take his master's life.
If his master were even the slightest bit careless, he would instantly perish beneath the ultimate techniques of the Black and White Fiends.
Just as Wuming was about to step in and help, he suddenly heard Kaishan Zhenren shout loudly, "Disciple, don't come over! Your master will be fine. You should hurry and leave this place of trouble!"
Sure enough, Wuming saw his master unleash his own ultimate technique, actually turning danger into safety. It was evident that his master's martial arts were truly formidable; facing two experts simultaneously, he remained completely at ease and in absolute control.
Seeing that his master was safe and sound, the stone in Wuming's chest finally dropped. It was clear that his master's martial prowess had reached the pinnacle of perfection. To remain calm and deal out methodical counterattacks against two villains was truly no small feat.
In truth, Kaishan Zhenren had been prepared all along. He had to use a superior technique to force the two villains back; otherwise, the ensuing situation would become extremely passive.
With that, the two sides plunged into a fierce battle, trading blows back and forth. In the blink of an eye, they had exchanged more than a dozen rounds, growing fiercer with every clash, neither seeming able to gain the upper hand.
For Wuming, witnessing a battle between experts of this caliber was a first. It truly made his heart leap and left him dizzy.
He hadn't realized how brutal such combat between masters could be—it was an outright disregard for the opponent's life, as every single move was venomous and merciless.
For the past sixteen years, although Wuming had trained every day under his master's guidance, they had always treated each other with mutual respect. At most, their spars ended at the touch of a weapon; they had never experienced such a scene of savage slaughter.
Thus, the carnage unfolding before his eyes truly opened his horizons.
Seeing this scene, Wuming finally understood a fundamental truth: in the face of an enemy, if you do not kill them, they will kill you. For the sake of survival, both sides had no choice but to unleash their ultimate moves in a desperate bid to kill the other first.
Faced with such a cruel reality, Wuming found himself deeply conflicted. Could it be that diligent cultivation was merely meant for preserving one's own life while wantonly slaughtering the innocent?
Just as Wuming's mind was wandering, he suddenly saw the tip of Black Sha's sword pierce his master's shoulder. Needless to say, his master was injured.
Despite this, Wuming could only pray to the bodhisattvas, hoping against hope that his master would be safe.
Seeing his master hurt, Wuming felt as though his heart were being torn apart. He blamed himself for overestimating his master's capabilities, which had led to such a harrowing outcome for his master.
Wuming could no longer hold back. Brandishing his sword, he rushed into the fray; he had to protect his master and prevent him from suffering further harm.
With no time for hesitation, Wuming frantically unleashed his ultimate move, striking straight toward Black Sha's back.
Amidst the fierce combat, Black Sha suddenly sensed a surge of sword qi gathering behind him and realized someone was launching a sneak attack from his blind spot.
Being cunning and seasoned, Black Sha did not panic. He instantly withdrew his sword and spun around, only to discover it was just a wet-behind-the-ears brat. Fortunately, he had noticed it in time; otherwise, he would have been ambushed by this little puny brat.
Upon seeing the truth of the situation, the tension in Black Sha's chest eased considerably. At the very least, he could be certain that the stinky brat's martial arts couldn't possibly amount to much.
Moreover, Black Sha suddenly found the stinky brat before him looking somewhat familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before, though he couldn't place it for the moment.
Since this brat had the audacity to ambush him, Black Sha decided he still couldn't afford to be careless. Heroes often emerged from a young age, and many achieved renown in their youth.
Therefore, he had to handle the situation with caution; a single mistake would lead to endless regret.
After parrying a blow, Black Sha suddenly remembered the brat—they had crossed paths at the inn in Qingfeng Town.
He never would have dreamed that the brat's lightness skills were so astonishingly fast, allowing him to catch up in such a short amount of time. Since that was the case, the kid could not be underestimated.
With this thought, Black Sha fought while shouting out, "Little punk, weren't you just at the inn in Qingfeng Town?"
"That's right! When you two arrived, you knocked over an old woman on the roadside. Not only did you ignore her, but you even mocked her. It's clear that the two of you are utterly devoid of human decency!" Wuming replied as he parried a strike.
"Hahaha! Why bother caring about some frail old woman? Better she dies to keep things quiet. Did you walk all the way here, you little brat?" Black Sha asked, a trace of curiosity in his tone.
"That's right! Do you think my foot speed is worse than a horse's? To be honest, if I hadn't been delayed saving that old woman, I might have beaten you here!" Wuming boasted.
"Hehe! Your lightness skills may be decent, but that doesn't mean your cultivation is all that deep! I advise you to know what's good for you. You'd better bow your head and surrender so you can keep your life, otherwise ending up defeated by my hands will be a truly wretched sight," Black Sha said with great confidence.
"Is that so? I don't think you Black and White Fiends are all that great either. Even now, you're still no match for my master! Who ultimately wins remains to be seen—that's the reality right in front of you, whether you believe it or not!" Wuming retorted boldly, his voice ringing with high spirits.
