Once the Spring Festival passed, time seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye. March arrived, leaving a mere three months until the national college entrance examination. Perhaps driven by the tightening tension as the exams drew closer, Class 17 had shed its usual lively atmosphere, weighed down instead by an invisible, solemn sense of pressure. When the class break bell rang, almost everyone remained seated in the classroom, save for those fetching water or visiting the restroom. Since a large portion of the class was preparing to study abroad, many students had already buried themselves in foreign language textbooks.
