The first floor of the Scripture Pavilion is home to a vast collection of texts and is open to all free of charge. Even so, simply walking a lap around the floor takes nearly an hour. Finding the specific books and Jade Slips one requires, therefore, consumes even more time.
Fortunately, the first floor provides a master index of every book and Jade Slip. By borrowing it from the duty disciple, one can search the index to pinpoint the exact location of the materials they need. After Xu Yuxiu bowed to the duty disciple, she successfully obtained the master index. It was a Jade Slip; once spiritual power was infused into it, it projected a tiered directory of text in light and shadow.
After scanning the contents, Xu Yuxiu quickly located the books she wanted. Her first interest was the *Chronicles of Cultivation*. This book, compiled collectively by generations of Taixuan Sect disciples, elders, sect leaders, and even the founders, is still updated to this day. It encompasses all sorts of curious anecdotes and secret histories from ancient times to the present. The text *Hundred Tales of Cultivation* used by outer sect disciples is merely a collection of basic information extracted from this work.
