A dark shadow slipped past the drowsy Shu guards at the entrance and scaled the wall. Fortunately, this was a post station, not a prison, so security was lax. The only reason two Shu soldiers were stationed there was to provide a symbolic show of protection for Tian Mu, the special envoy from the State of Wei.
The figure pushed open the door and saw Tian Mu sleeping soundly on his cot. Before the shadow could get close, a sharp sword pointed directly at his neck. The shadow’s eyes flickered, and he hurriedly whispered.
