Luoyang Tribute Examination Hall.
Situated on the eastern side of Luoyang and facing south, this hall was newly constructed on Jia Lingyun's orders following the decree on the imperial examinations. After several months of construction, it was completed in the twelfth month of the second year of Longyu.
Originally, the imperial examinations had been scheduled by Jia Lingyun for the third day of the third month of the third year of Longyu. Many examinees had arrived in Luoyang early to prepare, but now, with the third month nearly over, there was still no sign of the examinations beginning.
