Luoyang City's East Gate. The terrain here was low-lying, easy to attack and difficult to defend, making it the most perilous of the four gates. The Provincial Army had also seen through this. While the other three gates faced only feigned assaults, the East Gate was the primary direction of attack. They had specifically assigned Huang Qu, the Jizhou commander, to lead the Jizhou Provincial Army—known as the Tiger Division—to storm the East Gate.
