"Sister-in-law, what's about to happen isn't suitable for children. Stay inside and watch Bao'er."
Lin Fei slowly stood up from his chair, walked out of the main room, and pulled the door shut behind him.
"Xiaofei, be careful! There are a lot of them!" Mo Xinlan warned Lin Fei with deep concern.
"Don't worry, Sister-in-law. They're the ones who need to be careful," Lin Fei said to Mo Xinlan inside the house. Then he turned, tilted his head, and looked coldly at Liu Er. "Liu Er, weren't you beaten enough last night?"
"Beaten my ass! Lin Fei, do you still recognize these guys?" Liu Er pulled at the corner of his swollen mouth to hurl an insult back, then pointed at the burly men behind him and asked.
Lin Fei swept his gaze across the faces of the toughs. "Never seen them. What on earth do you want?"
Instead of attacking right away, Liu Er had asked if he recognized these men. Lin Fei instantly realized they were trying to test whether his amnesia was gone.
Needless to say, the person in this world most worried about whether his amnesia had recovered was Liu Jinshan.
Hearing Lin Fei say he didn't recognize the men behind him, Liu Er frowned slightly, figuring his amnesia hadn't cleared up yet.
After all, the guys he brought were village thugs who had fought with Lin Fei multiple times in the past.
These thugs now all worked as security guards at Liu Jinshan Construction Company.
"You don't recognize them? Great! Today I'll make you damn well remember them!" Liu Er shouted, waving a hand at the thugs behind him.
Whoosh!
Five or six thugs brandished wooden clubs and steel pipes and swarmed toward Lin Fei.
Thud, thud, thud!
"Ah!"
"Agh!"
"Ouch..."
Before the thugs could even get close to Lin Fei, he dispatched them with a few swift moves. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, clutching their arms and legs and rolling around in agony.
Liu Er stood by, dumbfounded.
Lin Fei's movements were blindingly fast. His strikes looked like fast-forwarded video while everyone else moved in slow motion.
Before Liu Er could even process what was happening, all six burly men were flat on the ground.
In truth, Lin Fei was quite astonished himself.
He hadn't expected that after absorbing the Heaven-Reaching Spiritual Qi, his physical strength, speed, and reflexes would become so terrifying!
When he beat up Liu Er last night, a surge of burning anger had made him lash out blindly, leaving him little chance to gauge his own abilities.
At this moment, he finally realized that he had truly become an expert.
"You... you..."
Smack!
Liu Er pointed at Lin Fei, too shocked to squeeze out a single word.
Before he could speak, Lin Fei kicked him three or four meters away. Liu Er slammed hard onto the ground and skidded another several meters, his chin plowing a trench in the dirt.
"Cough, cough, cough... Ptui! Ah! They're broken, they're broken! My ribs are broken! It hurts..."
Liu Er spat out a mouthful of blood, clutching his chest and squealing like a slaughtered pig in pain.
"Xiaofei! Don't be rash! If you beat them half to death, we can't afford the compensation!"
Peeking through the crack in the door and seeing how fiercely brave Lin Fei was, Mo Xinlan was struck dumb with amazement.
Recovering her senses, and fearing that Lin Fei might seriously injure someone and cause a massive disaster, she hurriedly cried out to warn him.
In reality, Lin Fei knew exactly what he was doing. Liu Er was just putting on an act; his ribs weren't broken at all.
As for the thugs, they weren't seriously hurt either—they had simply been struck at pressure points, causing a sudden burst of intense pain and temporary numbness.
Lin Fei's current mastery of medicine and martial arts far exceeded ordinary understanding; his force and choice of targets were executed with pinpoint precision.
The six thugs on the ground had worn off the worst of the pain and managed to stand up, but none of them dared to make another move.
The looks they gave Lin Fei were filled with sheer terror. They simply couldn't understand how someone paralyzed for two years could become so formidable.
"You bastard, you've got guts! Just you wait!"
Dropping a harsh threat, Liu Er was helped up by the thugs and limped away in disgrace.
Creak!
"Yay! Second Uncle is so amazing! Second Uncle is Ultraman! They were all monsters! And they all got chased away! Hehehe!"
Bao'er pushed the door open, clapping her little hands, jumping, and cheering for Lin Fei.
Lin Fei scooped Bao'er up into his arms, planted a kiss on her chubby little cheek, and laughed. "Yep, Second Uncle is an Ultraman specializing in beating monsters!"
"Xiaofei, how did you get so powerful? You weren't nearly this strong when you fought people in the past."
Mo Xinlan was genuinely shaken by Lin Fei's fiercely handsome display of martial arts just now.
"Uh... I'm not sure myself. Could it be that my illness suddenly cleared up, and my body got sturdier along with it? It really is strange."
Lin Fei rubbed the back of his head, intentionally putting on a bewildered expression.
"I think the heavens are just taking pity on us. Not only did they heal your body, but they also made you stronger than the average person. Consider it compensation for your two years of paralysis. I believe the heavens are fair."
Mo Xinlan pressed her palms together; unable to make sense of it, she attributed everything to the heavens.
"Yeah, that's right. The heavens are fair. Evil gets its retribution, and kindness gets its reward. If retribution hasn't come yet, it's simply because the time hasn't arrived," Lin Fei agreed with a nod.
In truth, his words were meant for his arch-enemy, Liu Jinshan.
He was certain that today, aside from avenging last night's humiliation, Liu Er must have been sent by Liu Jinshan to test him.
Once Liu Jinshan learned he had recovered, he would undoubtedly harbor murderous intentions to eliminate any loose ends.
Watching Liu Er and the others retreat into the distance, Lin Fei couldn't help frowning as the muscles in his jaw clenched.
At the same time, he cast a divination, and the hexagram he received filled him with intense anger.
Yet, deep down, Lin Fei also felt a quiet thrill—because his chance for revenge against Liu Jinshan was finally coming.
"Oh, my goodness! Big Brother Fei is really better?!"
Suddenly, a stocky young man with a big nose and small eyes shouted in surprise as he ran into the courtyard.
The newcomer was none other than Lin Fei's best friend, Dunzi.
Dunzi was a year younger than Lin Fei, and his given name was Wan Kui. Because he had been sturdy and solid since childhood, he earned the nickname Dunzi.
Today, while working at the brick kiln, he heard villagers say Lin Fei could get down from the kang and that his eyesight had returned, but he refused to believe it.
So, right after eating lunch, he rushed over to check for himself.
From afar, he saw Lin Fei standing in the courtyard holding Bao'er, and he flatly refused to believe his own eyes.
"Big Brother Fei! You're really better! Hahaha! The heavens have truly opened their eyes! Oh my god, I still can't believe it..."
Dunzi grabbed Lin Fei, looking him up, down, left, and right, marveling repeatedly until his eyes turned red.
He was truly weeping tears of joy for his good brother!
Lin Fei couldn't help feeling a tightness in his throat either, and he hugged Dunzi gratefully. Standing nearby, Mo Xinlan wiped away tears as well.
