"Tian, Tian, Tian, school's out!" Xiao Tian had slept from the very beginning of class straight through to the noon dismissal, until Fatty Jiang woke him up.
"Ah! Time for lunch already? Let's go!" Roused by Fatty, Xiao Tian instantly sprang back to life the moment he heard school was over.
With that, Xiao Tian stood right up, cast a glance toward Li Yuyan, and prepared to follow her to lunch.
"Tian, are you planning to ask our campus belle Li out for lunch? But you know, she's got a whole bunch of rich kids chasing after her!" Catching Xiao Tian's gaze, Fatty said with a leering grin.
"Go on, scram, don't stand in the way of my meal!" Hearing Fatty's words, Xiao Tian snapped at him irritably.
By this time, Li Yuyan and Dongfang Wan'er were already walking out of the classroom.
"Oh right, Tian, let me drop a massive piece of gossip on you." Though Xiao Tian had just chewed him out, Fatty kept grinning, completely unfazed.
"What gossip?" Xiao Tian asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Word has it that our lovely campus belle Li has a fiancé up in the Imperial Capital!" Seeing Xiao Tian look curious, Fatty maintained his cheeky grin.
What the hell?! A fiancé?! Well, holy shit, that really was a massive piece of gossip! Hearing this news, Xiao Tian couldn't keep his cool!
Still, shocked as he was, Xiao Tian wanted to get to the bottom of it. After all, he was Li Yuyan's personal bodyguard; it would be pretty awkward if he accidentally beat up her fiancé over a misunderstanding!
"Really?" Xiao Tian asked Fatty, putting on a calm facade. As he spoke, he gave him a look that clearly said: *If you're not telling the truth, I'm going to beat you up.*
"For real, Tian, why would I lie to you? That's precisely why our campus belle hasn't accepted a single guy's advances up until now," Fatty swore earnestly.
"Fine, I get it." Hearing this, Xiao Tian replied, still feigning calm.
"Huh?! Tian, are you just going to give up like that?" Seeing Xiao Tian's reaction, Fatty asked in surprise.
"Give up? What are you even talking about?" Xiao Tian asked, utterly baffled.
"Tian, aren't you trying to win over our campus belle? You can't just chicken out like this! Even if she's already got a fiancé, with your skills, Tian, you could totally steal her away!" Fatty said eagerly.
Listening to him, you'd think Fatty was talking about himself.
"Get lost, get lost, get lost! I'm not interested!" Xiao Tian snapped impatiently.
"What?! Tian, you're not interested in women?" Fatty gasped, looking utterly shocked.
"Damn it, get lost, stay away from me!" Xiao Tian gritted out. Hearing that, he was about ready to explode.
If he didn't think Fatty was a decent enough guy overall, Xiao Tian would have loved to let him experience what it felt like to be drop-kicked into a trash can.
With that, Xiao Tian walked off toward the cafeteria by himself.
As for Fatty Jiang, realizing he might have crossed a line, he didn't dare follow him.
Xiao Tian trailed a short distance behind Li Yuyan and Dongfang Wan'er all the way to the third floor of the cafeteria.
Being an elite academy, the cafeteria here felt more like one you'd find at a university. Every conceivable culinary style was available, and the interior decoration was exceptionally luxurious.
After wandering around for a bit, Xiao Tian ordered a few dishes he liked. Then, he chose a seat not far from Li Yuyan and Dongfang Wan'er and sat down.
