After discovering the harsh reality that he had no "money", following a bout of bickering with the System, Xie Yi still managed to secure some meal money.
Looking out over West City, Xie Yi did not yet have a solid plan in mind.
It turned out that coming to the Dragon Ball World wasn't just a matter of transforming into a Super Super Saiyan to act cool whenever he pleased.
"I was even thinking about surpassing the God of Destruction and the Angels, but after training for a whole week, my combat power has only increased by 100,000. With this combat power of 3.1 million, it seems I can only beat up..."
"Sigh, there's a good chance I can't even bully those few Earthlings."
Mainly because when he first time-traveled here, he hadn't bothered to figure out the combat power levels of Krillin and the others, leaving our protagonist somewhat bewildered now.
"Resurrect Frieza—what a toxic mission. If I resurrect him and don't kill him right away, he gets four months of his Golden Form."
"Tsk tsk, just thinking about it makes him unbeatable. And this is still a world without Son Goku; it looks like I have to keep getting stronger. At least I can fly and shoot Ki Blasts now."
In a sparsely populated dune area, Son Goku and Vegeta stood each on their own high rock—one slightly higher than the other, recreating the exact scene of Goku and Vegeta's very first duel.
Looking at Kakarot, who was currently in prime condition, Vegeta said, "Hey, Kakarot, show me your Super Saiyan form."
Hearing this, Son Goku replied, "Vegeta, today I'm going to make you submit wholeheartedly."
"Haaaah!"
"Bang!"
Dust swirled everywhere. Golden-haired and green-eyed, paired with that stern expression—it was none other than Super Saiyan Son Goku.
Son Goku's Base Form: 25 million (not this high in the original work), but due to the fusion of two Son Goku souls, his base power was doubled.
Son Goku, Super Saiyan Form: 1.25 billion combat power.
"Damn it! Just a short while ago, Kakarot was on the verge of death in bed, and now he's actually gotten this strong."
Son Goku's aura filled Vegeta with rage.
"Aaaaaah!"
"Thud!"
A howling gale swept across the landscape as Super Vegeta made his grand entrance, golden hair and green eyes blazing.
Vegeta's Base Form: 8 million.
Super Vegeta: 400 million.
Knowing that Vegeta was no match for him, Son Goku offered a warning: "Vegeta, I'm not going to hold back with tentative probes this time."
*Damn it! How dare he look down on yours truly!*
"Come at me, Kakarot!"
"Haha—Hiyah!"
Vegeta flared his ki once more, a flash of golden light crossed the space, and he appeared right in front of Kakarot.
"Kakarot!"
He threw a punch backed by the full power of a Super Saiyan.
As expected, Vegeta was still as hot-tempered as ever—one touch and he blows.
Faced with Vegeta's full-powered punch, Son Goku effortlessly blocked it with just a single finger.
Staring at the fist suspended motionless in midair, Vegeta's eyes widened in sheer shock.
*How can this be? Kakarot blocked my attack with just one finger?*
"Hehe, Vegeta, my turn."
"Ha-iyah!"
"Thud!"
Son Goku's punch landed squarely on Vegeta's midsection. The immense force slammed into Vegeta's body, and the terrifying kinetic impact caused him to vomit bile as he stumbled backward.
Regaining his footing and adjusting his state, Vegeta asked in disbelief, "Could the gap in our base power really be this huge?"
"Hey, Vegeta!"
*Nani?!*
The instant Vegeta's pupils dilated, a heavy blow landed on his stomach, causing his body to involuntarily lift into the air.
Immediately after, Son Goku flashed behind him, brought his hands together, and brought them down hard onto Vegeta's back.
"Thud!"
Vegeta plummeted from the high altitude, crashing heavily into the ground.
*Damn it!* Vegeta pounded the ground in frustration. *Kakarot's strength far exceeds mine; I couldn't even track his attacks just now.*
Son Goku landed outside the crater where Vegeta lay.
*Right now, I should hurry to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to break through the limits of Super Saiyan and become a Super Saiyan 2 so I can handle the Android crisis three years from now.*
"Vegeta."
"Kakarot!"
Vegeta glared angrily at the Saiyan before him.
*Why is it that he's merely a lower-class warrior, yet I keep losing and losing, when I'm already a Super Saiyan?!*
Son Goku naturally knew that Vegeta was full of lingering resentment right now, but there was no point in continuing the fight, knowing full well that Vegeta wouldn't stick around just to be beaten up for no reason.
"Let's call it a day, Vegeta."
"Kakarot!" Vegeta pushed himself up and said, "Don't think that just because you're stronger than me right now, things will stay this way. I will definitely surpass you."
"Haha, Vegeta, I know a place that can help us train—maybe we can even break through Super Saiyan."
"As expected, Super Saiyan isn't the limit for us Saiyans."
"Naturally. Vegeta, would you be willing to come with me to train in a certain place? In just two days, we can undergo a complete transformation."
Vegeta said in astonishment, "What did you say, Kakarot? In just two days, we can break past Super Saiyan?!"
"What kind of place is that?"
At this point, Vegeta found it somewhat hard to believe; he had never heard of anyone breaking through their ultimate state in just two days.
Son Goku kept him in suspense. "It's right here on Earth. I'll use Instant Transmission to take you there."
Seeing Son Goku extend his hand, Vegeta shot him a look of disgust before reluctantly resting his hand on Son Goku's shoulder.
"Is this fine?!" Vegeta barked angrily. "Hurry up, Kakarot."
*Once I break through Super Saiyan, the very first thing I'm going to do is beat the crap out of this bastard Kakarot.*
"Thank you, Vegeta. Let's go."
*Damn it, I'm this angry and I still can't transform into a Super Saiyan. Do I really have to resort to completing missions just to get rewards?*
"System, are you there? Can you give me a Dragon Radar?"
The System remained silent...
"Due to mission requirements, the location of the Dragon Balls has already been provided to the host. To become stronger, please complete the mission promptly."
A map showing the locations of Earth's Dragon Balls flashed in his mind.
*Since when did this blockhead System become so agreeable?*
The System replied: "The host should refrain from needlessly abusing the System. Furthermore, my services have always been top-notch; it's simply up to the host to slowly feel them out and notice them."
*Heh, you're a good system, but I'm no saint. As a transmigrator with a System, I must be having the hardest time of all.*
*Other transmigrators arrive in the Dragon Ball World, become Super Saiyans shortly after, go into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with their tails intact, and turn into Super Saiyan 4s in no time. And then there's me...*
Right now the Dragon Balls hadn't even been gathered yet, the map gave a thoughtful reminder that the Dragon Balls wouldn't be usable for another six months, and Earth's current Shenron could only grant a single wish.
"A single wish—this completely ruins my plan to wish for the ability to breathe in outer space."
After grumbling for a bit, Xie Yi finally decided to go look for Bulma and use her gravity room for training. He hadn't taken action earlier mainly out of fear that Vegeta would discover he was a Saiyan and beat him to a pulp.
And now? Figuring out that a beating could be traded for a boost in combat power... it was totally worth it!
