Lěng Yè stepped onto the sword blade and slowly ascended, finally landing steadily atop the city wall. Overlooking Tangyin City, a scene of utter devastation met his eyes: dilapidated houses, deserted streets, and a pervasive desolation. A few figures could be faintly seen wandering the streets, their movements stiff like walking corpses, roaming aimlessly. Lěng Yè knew instantly that these were all puppets controlled by Lěng Yōuyōu. He continued his patrol, attempting to find Lěng Yōuyōu's hiding place. In the distance, a luxurious residence stood out conspicuously. The courtyard was pristine, lotus lanterns floated in a pond, and two guards stood at the entrance—clearly normal humans. Inside the residence, one room was brightly lit, evidently a living space. Lěng Yè deduced that this was likely Lěng Yōuyōu's temporary abode. With almost the entire city turned into her puppet legion, this was undoubtedly her safest stronghold. Even a large army approaching would likely struggle to break through these heavy defenses. Lěng Yè mused that forcing his way in would inevitably alert Lěng Yōuyōu and might even allow her to escape prematurely, rendering his mission pointless.
