At night in Jixiang Jiayuan, the cold wind howled as a figure dashed rapidly toward the residential complex. With lightning speed, he arrived at Zhang Yali's front door. With a fierce kick, the door swung open to the sound of a crash. The scene behind the door made his blood boil with rage: Wang Yujie was kneeling before Chang Jun, her hair disheveled, with obvious bruises on her face. Hearing the commotion, both of them turned their heads to look.
Seeing that the newcomer was Lěng Yè, Chang Jun paused in the middle of unbuckling his belt and a sneer crept onto the corner of his mouth. "You trash, you actually dare to show up? Wasn't yesterday's beating enough?" His tone was full of disdain and provocation.
Seeing Lěng Yè arrive, Wang Yujie tried to stand up, but Chang Jun shoved her right back down. "Want to run? Kneel right here!"
Lěng Yè was infuriated. Clenching his fists, he roared, "Chang Jun, I'm going to kill you!"
Chang Jun let out a scoff, striking a pose as if he were ready to beat Lěng Yè up. Yet, unexpectedly, Lěng Yè's speed was so blindingly fast that Chang Jun could not even react. In a flash, Lěng Yè was right in front of him, his fist whistling through the air. Chang Jun watched helplessly, completely unable to dodge. With a dull thud, Chang Jun was knocked straight to the ground by Lěng Yè's punch.
Lěng Yè helped Wang Yujie up and asked with concern, "Sister-in-law, are you all right?"
Wang Yujie replied with a trembling voice, "I'm fine... he just gave me a beating..."
A flash of fury crossed Lěng Yè's eyes as he turned to Chang Jun and said, "You bastard, I'll remember what happened today."
Wang Yujie explained, "I stewed some chicken today and thought about bringing some over for you two. I never expected this stranger to open the door... He kept staring at me lewdly, and then he forcibly dragged me into the apartment, saying you owed him money and demanding my body as payment. When I refused, he started hitting me..."
Hearing this, a chilling light flashed in Lěng Yè's eyes. He grabbed Chang Jun by the collar and dealt him a vicious slap. "You really are a piece of trash!"
Although Chang Jun was somewhat dazed from the blow, he showed not the slightest trace of fear. He was a master of free combat, capable of knocking down four or five men all by himself. Yet before Lěng Yè, he was utterly powerless to fight back.
Chang Jun was baffled: how could this piece of trash, whom he had brutally beaten just last night, suddenly become so terrifyingly strong? But right now, he could only endure Lěng Yè's punches. After a short while, Chang Jun's mouth was bleeding and he was on the verge of death. "Brother, Brother Yè, I was wrong! Stop hitting me! You're going to beat me to death!"
Lěng Yè ignored his pleas, his voice filled with absolute resolve and fury.
Finally, just as Lěng Yè was about to strike again, Chang Jun surrendered. "I... I'll kneel and apologize," he said with a trembling voice, then quickly scrambled up, knelt before Wang Yujie, and apologized profusely: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll never dare do this again."
Only then did the anger in Lěng Yè's heart subside slightly. He let out a cold snort and rebuked, "Apologize to my sister-in-law!"
Chang Jun dared not hesitate, hurriedly apologizing and begging for forgiveness until Wang Yujie indicated that she forgave him.
Only then did Lěng Yè's anger completely dissipate. He turned around, helped Wang Yujie up, and said, "Sister-in-law, let's go." With that, he turned and left the scene, leaving behind a mess of chaos and the sorrowful sounds of wailing.
Inside Wang Yujie's little home—a modest one-bedroom apartment—the interior decoration was simple yet very cozy. Various daily necessities were arranged in neat order; though small, the place exuded an extraordinary warmth. She had added many cute decorations to the apartment, filling the space with the breath of home and warmth.
Shortly afterward, Zhang Yali returned home. Seeing Chang Jun half-dead on the floor, her expression changed drastically. She hurried over, helped him up, and asked, "Darling, what happened to you? How did you get beaten up like this?"
A vicious glint flashed in Chang Jun's eyes as he gnashed his teeth and said, "It was that son of a bitch Lěng Yè!"
Zhang Yali frowned. "That piece of trash? He was able to beat you like this?"
Chang Jun said angrily, "Lěng Yè sent her to seduce me, and then seized the opportunity to take photos to blackmail me, forcing me to submit to him, otherwise he'd leak my photos and ruin my reputation! I was afraid he'd actually do it, so I had no choice but to swallow my pride and submit to him. Otherwise, as a real man, why would I ever fear him? But this bastard hits damn hard—I almost got beaten to death by him."
After hearing all this, Zhang Yali's expression turned pitch black. Gritting her teeth, she said, "That good-for-nothing actually dares to treat you this way! He's really growing bolder!" She decided to exact revenge for Chang Jun and make Lěng Yè pay the price. Thus, she proposed finding an Internal Energy expert to deal with Lěng Yè and asking him to step in to avenge Chang Jun.
Upon hearing this, Chang Jun's eyes lit up. He agreed to the proposal, stating that he wanted to teach Lěng Yè a harsh lesson and make him suffer a bit to vent his hatred.
"Sister-in-law, your face has a few bruises; it looks somewhat unsightly. Why don't you let me lend a hand and get rid of them? Your beauty should never be obscured by such minor flaws."
Hearing this, a trace of surprise flashed in Wang Yujie's eyes. "You actually possess such miraculous skill?"
Lěng Yè smiled calmly and said, "My abilities go far beyond what you've seen."
Wang Yujie readily agreed, a look of anticipation on her face. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Little Yè."
Lěng Yè nodded, walked slowly up to Wang Yujie, and gently placed his hand over the bruised area. His fingertips seemed to carry a strange kind of Spiritual Power, which slowly flowed across Wang Yujie's cheek, and gradually, the bruising began to fade.
Before long, the bruises on Wang Yujie's face completely vanished, and her entire face regained its fair and delicate complexion.
"All done." Lěng Yè withdrew his hand.
Wang Yujie hurriedly picked up a mirror to look at herself, discovering that the bruises on her face were truly gone. Filled with pleasant surprise, she said, "Little Yè, you really are a miraculous doctor to possess such magical medical skills."
Lěng Yè smiled smugly at this. "This is just child's play."
Wang Yujie gave him a playful look, then started to stand up to pour Lěng Yè some water to show her gratitude. However, the moment she stood up, her brow furrowed tightly and cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
Seeing this, Lěng Yè asked anxiously, "Sister-in-law, what's wrong?"
Clutching her left ribcage with a painful expression on her face, Wang Yujie said, "I... I'm suddenly in a lot of pain right here." Carefully lifting her hem, she revealed a patch of bruises on her left ribcage. That bruise stretched far upward, shocking to the sight, and what was exposed was only a tiny fraction of it, with the majority still concealed beneath her clothing.
Seeing this, Lěng Yè's heart sank, and he cursed angrily, "Chang Jun, that scoundrel! I really should have taught him a much harsher lesson back there!"
Wang Yujie shook her head. "Stop getting angry; it's not worth it. Why don't you use your miraculous medical skills to cure this part for me too?"
Lěng Yè wore an awkward expression. Judging from the location of Wang Yujie's bruises, treating them would require him to place his hand directly on her side chest. This made him somewhat hesitant. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Sister-in-law, I'd better go to the pharmacy and buy some medicinal herbs. I'll mix up some ointment for you to apply."
Wang Yujie asked in puzzlement, "Why go through all that trouble? Can't you just treat it directly? Why waste money for nothing?"
Lěng Yè gave two light coughs and explained, "This spot is a bit... awkward. I want to avoid being improper."
Only then did Wang Yujie truly understand Lěng Yè's concerns. Her face flushed slightly, and her bashfulness grew even stronger than before.
"In the eyes of a healer, there is no distinction between men and women," she said brazenly, "You're a doctor. How you treat it is only natural." Furthermore, "I am in a lot, a lot, a lot of pain right now. I'm afraid I won't be able to endure it and will end up having to go to the hospital anyway, which would be even more troublesome."
Hearing this, Lěng Yè had no choice but to nod. Though feeling rather guilty, he still said, "Alright then..."
