Chapter 1

Cangyun Mountain.
Behind a Taoist temple.
Chen Xiao had delicate features as he leisurely walked into a meditation room.
Ten elderly men sat upright, their gazes all fixed on his face.
"Masters, why are you looking for me? You don't want me to go down the mountain and snatch a few old women back to be my mistresses, do you?" Chen Xiao asked.
The ten old men were so angry that their beards bristled and their blood pressure skyrocketed.
The Second Master snapped, "We are telling you to go down the mountain, but not to find mistresses."
Chen Xiao was stunned. "Then what am I looking for? Young girls for you?"
The Second Master was furious and too lazy to talk nonsense with him, directly tossing ten letters of engagement at Chen Xiao.
"Find these ten girls, and finally choose one to get a marriage certificate with," the Second Master instructed.
Seeing this, Chen Xiao said earnestly, "Adults don't make choices; I want them all."
The First Master immediately denied, "No way. Rules down the mountain: monogamy."
"Whose rule is that? I'll go wipe him out right now," Chen Xiao said, pouting unhappily.
The group: "......"
Soon, Chen Xiao wore a troubled look again.
"First Master, but I've only cultivated the Golden Light Mantra to the ninth layer. You'd better wait until I reach the tenth layer before letting me go down the mountain."
The First Master replied, "I'm only on the seventh layer."
"Second Master, I've only practiced the Ten Reverse Needles up to the ninth needle."
The Second Master retorted ungraciously, "I'm only on the eighth needle myself."
"Third Master..."
The Third Master roared, "Stop talking nonsense, you brat, get lost!"
"Also, haven't you always wanted to know about your birth? Go to the South China Sea in a year, and you'll find out."
Immediately after, Chen Xiao walked out of the meditation room holding the ten letters of engagement.
"What a pain in the neck. That brat has finally left."
"If he hadn't left, sooner or later he'd pluck every hair out of my beard."
Looking toward the entrance of the meditation room, the First Master sighed, "This kid is probably going to face countless dangers once he goes down the mountain."
The Third Master said indignantly, "Danger my foot."
"He's learned all of our skills. Even if he runs into those enemies of his from back in the day, he'll just wave his hand and wipe them out."
Inside the Taoist temple, Chen Xiao found a pair of pilgrims heading to Fuhai City and hitched a ride with them to leave.
In the car, he pulled out a letter of engagement.
Qi Chuyao!
This letter of engagement also came with a residential address attached.
By evening, Chen Xiao got out of the car at Qi Chuyao's doorstep.
At this moment, the Qi family's residence was packed with people, buzzing like a chaotic beehive.
With no one stopping him, Chen Xiao walked straight into the noisy living room.
Huh?
With so many people here, could it be they knew I was coming down the mountain and came out specifically to welcome me?
Chen Xiao scratched his head and asked, "Which one of you is Qi Chuyao?"
"I am," Qi Chuyao said, looking bewildered as she stood up.
She had sweet features, and beneath her short skirt were slender, straight, and fair legs.
Chen Xiao's eyes lit up.
A beauty!
His masters didn't have bad taste after all.
Upon seeing Chen Xiao, Qi Chuyao's third uncle, Qi Zhenhui, immediately wore a look of utter disgust and said displeasedly, "Divine Doctor Sun has already been invited here, and he is one of the four great divine doctors of Fuhai City."
"What are you bringing a stray cat or dog like this here for? Jianghu swindlers aren't worthy of stepping through the Qi family's gates!"
"I didn't bring him, I don't know him."
Qi Chuyao turned to look at Chen Xiao, asking, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"
"I'm your fiancé," Chen Xiao said calmly.
He walked up to Qi Chuyao, took out the letter of engagement, and handed it to her.
Qi Chuyao's heart trembled as she took the letter, lost in a daze.
For so many years, she had remained single, and her family had never arranged any marriage candidates for her.
The reason was closely tied to this letter of engagement.
She had always been curious about what kind of fiancé her grandfather had picked out for her.
Today, she finally saw him in person!
Taking advantage of Qi Chuyao's momentary daze, Chen Xiao turned and walked toward Qi Zhenhui.
Seeing this, Qi Zhenhui rebuked, "You bumpkin, get lost! You aren't worthy of stepping into our Qi family's gates..."
Before he could finish speaking, Chen Xiao slapped him directly across the face.
Crack!
A crisp sound echoed.
Qi Zhenhui's left cheek turned bright red, and he was sent crashing to the ground by the blow.
Chen Xiao said with a cold face, "How dare you scold me. Slap in the face!"
The crowd was taken aback. Things happened too quickly, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
After recovering her wits, Qi Chuyao anxiously demanded, "What are you doing?"
Chen Xiao said deadpan, "He scolded me, so he deserved a beating!"
Qi Chuyao was momentarily at a loss for words, feeling that what Chen Xiao said made some sense, yet somehow felt completely wrong.
"Someone in your family is about to die very soon," Chen Xiao said suddenly.
Qi Chuyao was stunned, then said, "My dad fell gravely ill and is still unconscious."
"Ah, Father-in-law, then."
Chen Xiao nodded slightly, then patted his own chest and said confidently, "Since it's my father-in-law who is gravely ill, I'll step in and cure him free of charge."
Qi Zhenhui flew into a rage and roared, "Damn you! You little bastard, stop talking nonsense here! What the hell do you know about healing people?"
Chen Xiao's expression darkened as he walked toward Qi Zhenhui once more.
Bang!
Chen Xiao delivered a flying kick, sending Qi Zhenhui crashing into the wall.
Qi Zhenhui was knocked dizzy with stars spinning before his eyes, almost getting a glimpse of his great-grandfather in the afterlife.
Chen Xiao snorted coldly, "Too much chatter."
Seeing this scene, everyone present was terrified and dared not utter a sound.
Ignoring the others, Qi Chuyao asked skeptically, "Can you really cure illnesses?"
Chen Xiao said with an air of arrogance, "Of course. I'm a professional. Back on the mountain, my starting price for treating someone was one million."
Qi Chuyao gasped in astonishment, "That expensive?!"
Chen Xiao's face filled with question marks as he asked in puzzlement, "Is that expensive?"
"I only charged three million the last time I cured a man's kidney deficiency."
Seeing that Chen Xiao did not appear to be lying, Qi Chuyao said, "As long as you can save my dad, never mind three million or thirty million, even I can be yours."
Shortly after, she led Chen Xiao into Qi Zhenguo's bedroom.
Qi Zhenguo lay on the bed, still trapped in unconsciousness.
Wearing a white lab coat, Sun Xiushan was holding silver needles, meticulously treating Qi Zhenguo while drenched in cold sweat.
He was the very Divine Doctor Sun that Qi Zhenhai had mentioned—a renowned miracle doctor in Fuhai City.
Chen Xiao frowned and muttered in a low voice, "What you're doing isn't saving a life; it's murder."
Sun Xiushan looked up at Chen Xiao and reprimanded, "Who are you? What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Get lost and don't interfere with me saving a life!"
Seeing that Qi Zhenguo's life was hanging by a thread, Chen Xiao didn't waste words; he rushed forward, grabbed Sun Xiushan by the collar, and threw him straight toward the doorway.
Lying on the floor, Sun Xiushan roared angrily, "Are you out of your mind?!"
"You brat, do you have any idea who I am?"
He leaped violently to his feet and charged furiously at Chen Xiao.
Slap!
Chen Xiao backhanded him across the face.
Sun Xiushan was knocked down once again, sprawling on the floor like a dog.
"Why are people down this mountain so full of nonsense?"
Muttering to himself, Chen Xiao swiftly drove a silver needle into Qi Zhenguo's Tianhai Acupoint.
In an instant, Qi Zhenguo's body jerked, and he abruptly sat upright.
"Ah! My dad sat up!"
Qi Chuyao widened her eyes and cried out in shock.
Sun Xiushan collapsed on the floor, staring dumbfounded at the sitting Qi Zhenguo.
"How is this possible?"
"Mr. Qi actually sat up!"
Having exhausted all his options and given up hope, he never expected to witness such an astonishing sight.
However, a moment later, Qi Zhenguo slumped backward and fell unconscious once again.
