Yuanchun was assigned to a gynecological hospital in the imperial capital. Because she had previously interned there for three months, where she had proven quick-witted and academically proficient, the hospital had kept her on staff.
Carrying her luggage, Yuanchun bypassed the family residential quarters and went straight to the old Liu family estate. It was very close to the hospital—only a half-hour walk, or a ten-minute bicycle ride.
