Chapter 4

Chu Qingmeng's aged face turned red with embarrassment as she said, "Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to." She hurried to her feet as she spoke, her mind racing with thoughts: *These ancient people have warm bodies, and they can speak. Judging by their movements, their bodies aren't stiff at all. This doesn't fit the characteristics of zombies at all.*
"Miss, watch out!" While Chu Qingmeng was lost in thought, the grave robber who had suddenly appeared and scared her earlier had also jumped down and lunged at her. Mo Liujin moved in a flash, pulling her into his arms to shield her. With a kick, he sent the resurrected grave robber flying, then pulled Chu Qingmeng up and leaped toward the group. "Miss, forgive me, I had no choice!"
After landing, Mo Liujin placed her alongside Mo Wushuang, and the others formed a protective circle around them. Chu Qingmeng's mouth twitched as she raised a hand and poked Mo Liujin on the bone at the back of his neck. Mo Liujin's body stiffened as he heard Chu Qingmeng say, "Flailing and kicking probably won't work. Try to see if you can break this bone and this bone on them. As long as these two bones break, they shouldn't be able to move." With that, she poked a vertebra on Mo Liujin's back. Mo Liujin turned his head, gave her a deep look, nodded, and leaped toward one of the grave robbers with a flying kick. Chu Qingmeng had spent a long time thinking up this idea. After all, human anatomy was basic common sense; humans were vertebrates, and as long as the spine was broken, the human body could not set off a chain reaction, and thus it could not move.
Sure enough, after trying it once, Mo Liujin found that it was indeed the case. Once broken, they could only lie on the ground and roar impotently. Seeing this, the others quickly followed suit, and in less than a minute, all three grave robbers were down. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the crowd with a head full of messy thoughts, Chu Qingmeng took a deep breath, gripped her entrenching tool tightly, and asked the most idiotic question of her life: "Are you people actually living humans or not?"
Mo Chenfeng and the others all stared at her blankly. Mo Liufang let out a snort of laughter, and seeing the wariness in the young girl's eyes, he smiled and asked, "Miss, what do you think? Are we living humans?"
Chu Qingmeng took a deep breath, her mind rapidly processing the situation. These people didn't act like zombies, but when she looked up, she accidentally caught sight of Mo Liuchen's arm bleeding. *They bleed?! And it's red?!* They really were living humans, but wearing ancient costumes in an ancient tomb was genuinely terrifying. "Ahem, handsome, would you mind tending to your wound first? Don't want it to get infected."
Mo Liuchen raised his eyes to look at Chu Qingmeng and uttered an "en" in acknowledgment. "Sister, thank you for saving me just now," Mo Wushuang said, looking at Chu Qingmeng with lingering fear. "My name is Mo Wushuang. May I ask your name, Sister?"
"Chu Qingmeng." With her guard down, Chu Qingmeng felt as though all the strength had left her body. She leaned against a giant sarcophagus nearby and sat down. "Just a small favor, no need to thank me." With that, seeing Mo Wushuang's chapped lips, she pulled out a bottle of water, unscrewed it, and handed it to her. Mo Wushuang took the strange bottle but didn't drink from it; instead, she handed it to Mo Chenfeng and the others. Mo Chenfeng shook his head, signaling her to drink, and only then did Mo Wushuang take a small sip.
"Didn't you bring anything with you when you came down to rob a tomb?" Chu Qingmeng asked, speechless at their modesty.
"We aren't here to rob a tomb," Mo Liujin replied. "We accidentally stumbled in here and are trying to find a way out."
Hearing this, Chu Qingmeng's eyes lit up. "Really? You stumbled in by accident too?! That's great! I'm looking for a way out as well! Want to team up?" Chu Qingmeng was ecstatic inside. Although she had been accidentally sealed into the tomb, coming into a tomb was like dropping into loot zones, and now she could even find people to team up with! This truly was real-life PUBG! Once she got out, she'd definitely have to give some feedback to the PUBG team and see if they could release an ancient tomb map.
"Sister Qingmeng, you can't get out either?" Mo Wushuang asked, returning the remaining half bottle of water.
"I think I found a way out?" Chu Qingmeng replied, feeling somewhat unconfident. "The place where I fell down earlier should be a passage left by the tomb builders, though I'm not entirely sure. I think I might have gone the wrong way and ended up running into you guys. I don't know if the other end leads out."
Just as they were still getting acquainted and introducing themselves, Chu Qingmeng suddenly heard some unusual noises approaching them. Looking back, Chu Qingmeng saw that the walls and ground behind her were already crawling with bugs—bugs that looked for all the world like the corpse beetles described in *Time Raiders*!
"What the fuck!" Chu Qingmeng cursed, grabbed Mo Wushuang by the arm, and bolted. "Run! Corpse beetles! Those things eat people!!!"
Hearing this, the others turned around and immediately felt their scalps tingle. Chu Qingmeng had already dragged Mo Wushuang to the platform where she had fallen earlier. The old trick: tie the rope to the entrenching tool and throw it straight up! This time she managed to throw it up on the first try, but unfortunately, the cave opening was too wide, and the entrenching tool couldn't catch on anything. While she was running around in a panic, the corpse beetles had already crawled over. The three Secret Guards standing at the very front couldn't shake off the swarm of beetles covering their bodies and began to be torn apart. Seeing them thrashing wildly and about to lunge forward, Chu Qingmeng pulled out her handgun in desperation and fired three *bang-bang-bang* shots, killing the three Secret Guards. The swarm of corpse beetles swarmed over to devour the three corpses. "Hey! Don't you guys know lightness gong? Fly up!"
Mo Liufang grabbed Mo Wushuang, leaped up onto the platform, set her down, and then flew back down. He intended to grab Chu Qingmeng and take her up to the platform as well, but he and Mo Liujin grabbed Chu Qingmeng's arms at the same time. With no time to overthink, they exchanged a nod and flew up with her together.
