Bypassing the rows of academic buildings, we arrived at the Alisa Auditorium located at the center of the campus. The small plaza in front of the auditorium was already packed with a bustling crowd. Most of them were parents who had brought their families and children to enroll, each hoping their sons would become dragons and their daughters phoenixes. Yet in truth, very few ever actually achieved that. Some people were already miles ahead at the starting line, separated by a gap that hard work simply could not close.
"Everyone, please keep an eye on your children. We are about to enter, and once inside, parents are asked not to wander around casually, but to bring your children directly into the main assembly hall." An ethereal voice came from overhead. The teacher reluctantly handed Alice over to me. "Keep a close eye on Alice. You're so scatterbrained—it's a real misfortune for Alice to be stuck with you."
I smiled wryly and repeatedly nodded in agreement. Alice waved goodbye to the teacher and entered the hall with me.
