White did not shed another tear until the very end. It was as if the one who had died was not his wife, but a complete stranger with whom he had no connection whatsoever. Mavis passed away peacefully, a smile lingering at the corners of her mouth, holding her child in her arms. She was buried in the plum blossom grove deep within the forest. When White returned from the grove, he cradled a purple memento orb in his hands as if he were holding some precious treasure.
"She buried it there, a very long time ago. I don't know what she recorded inside. We went to bury it together, and I forgot all about it afterward. Who would have thought... that we would dig it up because she's gone."
