Lord Rickard leaned back slightly, resting his back against the chair. His expression was relaxed, as if the words he had just spoken were no more consequential than discussing which dinner option tasted better.
Ghost was somewhat doubtful of her own hearing. "My lord, what did you just say? I didn't catch that clearly."
The room remained dead silent, save for the crackling of burning firewood in the fireplace. Rickard picked up the wine glass beside him and took a sip, remaining silent for a long moment.
