The West Market was primarily a gathering place for blacksmiths and carpenters, whereas the East Market was where scattered vendors sold food, drinks, and everyday goods. Compared to the West Market, the East Market felt much more vibrant and lived-in.
If they wanted to buy some chicks, they had to go to the East Market; the selection there was more complete, the quantities were larger, and there was much more room for choice.
