The air was no longer as stifling as it had been at midday. The sun no longer felt scorching on the skin; instead, it offered a gentle warmth. The breeze had also softened, brushing against their faces in a way that felt incredibly comfortable. After walking all day, Zhao Yan felt as if his legs were no longer obeying him. Although Zhao Gao had taken the heavy bags of rice and flour into his own basket, leaving Zhao Yan with only the light items, he still felt completely drained. It felt less like walking and more like running a grueling race.
