As soon as Ji Mingchuan took her hand, a blush appropriately appeared on Bái Róngróng's face.
She reached up and touched her cheek.
There were no longer any marks on her fair and smooth skin.
She looked up at Ji Mingchuan with a charming smile, displaying the shyness and intimacy characteristic of a woman in love.
"I'm all better now, see? There isn't a single mark left."
As Bái Róngróng said this, she leaned closer to Ji Mingchuan and turned her face to show him that she was indeed completely healed.
Seeing that there were truly no marks visible on Bái Róngróng's face as she leaned in, Ji Mingchuan felt significantly relieved.
His gaze drifted down to Bái Róngróng's full, red lips, and his eyes subtly darkened.
However, he quickly suppressed this thought and affectionately pinched Bái Róngróng's cheek.
"It's good that you're better. Why didn't you rest more? Why rush back to work so eagerly?"
Bái Róngróng merely curved her lips into a faint smile.
Her eyes held a sense of independence and resilience.
"It wasn't a serious injury. Once I recovered, I should be back at work."
As she spoke, her eyes flickered, and she shrugged.
"Besides, I'm not some pampered young lady who needs such delicate care and rest. I can't afford to."
Bái Róngróng's smile was bright, her words spoken with a casual, almost self-deprecating tone, but the message of self-reliance and strength within them still made Ji Mingchuan feel both heartache and affection.
In response, Ji Mingchuan furrowed his brow slightly, concern etched on his face, and pulled her into his embrace.
"Girls as independent and strong as you at your age are truly rare. You're so resilient that it makes me want to comfort you, to find opportunities to dote on you, but I can't. You're such a silly girl."
"And who says only pampered young ladies deserve to rest well? In my heart, you are the most precious 'young lady' right now, more precious than any other."
Ji Mingchuan's doting words successfully brought a smile to the beauty's face.
Bái Róngróng chuckled, appearing graceful and radiant.
She wrapped her arms around Ji Mingchuan's waist.
"Only you would spoil me like a young lady."
"But I still need to work hard. The entertainment industry changes so quickly. It took me so much effort to reach this position. Resting for two days has already cost me two days of work. You work so hard to give me such good resources; of course, I can't let your expectations down."
Bái Róngróng's words were spoken with grace and strength, making anyone who heard them instinctively feel favorably towards her.
Ji Mingchuan tightened his arms around Bái Róngróng, feeling increasingly that the woman in his arms was strong and sensible, making her so likable.
This made his guilt over what happened the previous two days deepen, and his disdain for that woman Sū Mò grow even more.
Compared to Sū Mò, Bái Róngróng was always so positive, diligent, and sensible, like an angel sent from heaven, making him unable to resist her.
And by being with him, Bái Róngróng hadn't gained anything better; instead, she had attracted the harassment of a crazy woman like Sū Mò, suffered an injury, and been publicly humiliated. This filled Ji Mingchuan with guilt.
He fell silent, exuding a low, somber aura.
Bái Róngróng noticed his dejection. She pulled away from his embrace and, seeing his somewhat gloomy and low expression, appeared puzzled. Nevertheless, she reached out and smoothed his furrowed brow.
"What's wrong? Why the sudden expression? Don't frown; it's not a good look."
