"What are you doing? Giving a massage," Wang Mingyu replied, completely clueless.
"I had no idea you knew how to do that," Wang Qingying frowned.
She was deeply dissatisfied with Wang Mingyu being together with her stepmother.
Although her father was heartless, if this woman hadn't had the slightest intention toward him, it would have been impossible for her to marry into a wealthy family.
Or rather, one could say this woman was purely after money and status.
After all, she didn't believe anyone could genuinely like that old fogey.
"Then how about I give you a foot massage later?" Wang Mingyu said with a lecherous grin.
"Shut up."
Wang Qingying glared at Wang Mingyu, because she didn't want to show any other emotions in front of this stepmother.
She wanted to use her attitude to let Shen Ruoyun know that she didn't like her! The sooner she got lost, the better for everyone.
Shen Ruoyun didn't mind. The corners of her lips curled up slightly, and she said in a gentle tone, "Mingyu, let's stop here for today. You should head back and get some rest early."
"Alright, Mom." Wang Mingyu smiled faintly and watched as Shen Ruoyun turned and went upstairs.
A flash of anger appeared on Wang Qingying's face. "Mom?! You called her Mom?!"
"Yeah, she's my stepmother, isn't she?"
"Hmph, don't you ever call her that again!"
"Why not?"
"Because I said so, that's why!" Wang Qingying snapped angrily.
She would never allow anyone in the family to have any close relationship with that woman.
"Hehe, how about we talk about that foot massage now?" Wang Mingyu chuckled.
"In your dreams! Get upstairs right now, I'm going to sleep."
"Let's discuss it a bit more? Even if you're wearing stockings, it's fine!"
"Don't even think about it!"
In Wang Qingying's bedroom.
"Once upon a time, there was a little pig and a little white rabbit.
One day, the little pig made the little white rabbit angry.
The little pig desperately wanted to make the little white rabbit happy again.
The little pig asked the little white rabbit: 'Little white rabbit, little white rabbit, I made your favorite carrot cake, won't you stop being angry?'
The little white rabbit shook her head and said: 'I don't want to eat carrot cake today.'
The little pig asked the little white rabbit again: 'Then how about I make you some carrot soup?'
The little white rabbit said: 'Hmph, we only had carrot soup yesterday.'
Rack his brains as he might, the little pig thought: 'Then, little white rabbit, little white rabbit, shall I make you your favorite rock sugar stewed pears?'
'Rock sugar stewed pears?' the little white rabbit said, 'Well, alright then, if you make me rock sugar stewed pears, I won't be mad anymore.'
The little pig hurried off to the fruit shop to buy snow pears.
He ran up to the owner of the fruit shop and asked: 'Boss, boss, do you have any snow pears left today?'
The boss said: 'Today's snow pears are all sold out.'
The little pig returned home sadly and said to the little white rabbit: 'Without pears there is no you, and without you, how can I live?'"
"Go to sleep, little pig. Goodnight." Wang Mingyu kissed Wang Qingying on the forehead.
After Wang Mingyu left, Wang Qingying pouted angrily. "You're the little pig, I'm the little white rabbit!"
Arriving in class.
Taking advantage of the fact that Jiang Feng hadn't yet discovered the treasure girl of the class, Wang Mingyu planned to cut in and intercept her.
Sure enough, he spotted one of the female leads who had arrived early, Qin Wanwan.
Wang Mingyu chuckled with an evil laugh, only to be blocked by Lin Linyu once again.
"Mingyu, over here, over here!" Lin Linyu called out enthusiastically, putting Wang Mingyu in a difficult spot.
He hesitated, but finally made up his mind. "Sorry, I... I want to sit in the back today. Let's go get milk tea together after class, okay?"
Even though Wang Mingyu had cruelly rejected her, he still left Lin Linyu a glimmer of hope.
Lin Linyu nodded and didn't press the matter further.
Although she felt a bit dissatisfied, Wang Mingyu said he would accompany her to buy milk tea after class, so this was fine too.
After all, class time should be focused on studying.
Wang Mingyu walked over and sat down beside the girl whom no one else paid attention to. "Ahem, um, hello?"
"Ah..." Qin Wanwan raised her head, meeting Wang Mingyu's bright, cheerful smile, and seemed somewhat nervous. "Y-you, hello."
"My name is Wang Mingyu, and you?"
"Qin Wan... Wanwan."
"Qin Wanwanwan?"
"N-no, it's... Qin Wanwan."
"Haha, sorry, just kidding." Wang Mingyu offered an apologetic smile.
"No, it's... it's fine." Qin Wanwan waved her hand dismissively.
Jiang Feng in the front row turned around out of curiosity; he wanted to see what kind of mischief Wang Mingyu was up to.
Seeing Wang Mingyu sitting next to such a tacky, unpolished girl, he couldn't help but let out a crooked smirk.
Yet he had a lingering sense that something was strange, as if something important had vanished.
Just at that moment, however, Mu Yunxi walked into the classroom.
Noticing that there were empty seats beside both Lin Linyu and Jiang Feng, she resolutely chose to sit next to Lin Linyu.
She still hadn't gotten over her anger from the last time she went to support him!
Upon seeing this, Jiang Feng wore an awkward expression.
He had already pleaded for Mu Yunxi's forgiveness quite sincerely.
Yet Mu Yunxi acted as if she hadn't heard a word, continuously ignoring him.
If Wang Mingyu were here right now, he would surely sigh with emotion.
A simping dog is always a simping dog; even in college, nothing has changed.
Whenever he bumps into someone where both sides clearly show interest, he still remains oblivious, but the moment the other person gives him the cold shoulder, Jiang Feng reverts right back to his old self.
To put it simply, he is extremely easy to string along.
Wang Mingyu in the back, meanwhile, kept chattering away. "Hey, wanna go get lunch together at noon?"
"Ah... No, thank you." Qin Wanwan shook her head.
She felt this boy was simply too forward.
He who offers courtesies for no reason is harboring a traitorous design.
"Alright then."
The next second, Wang Mingyu stopped talking, pulled a White Rabbit creamy candy out of his pocket, and handed it over.
"Here, I brought two, one for each of us." Under Qin Wanwan's gaze, Wang Mingyu popped his candy into his mouth.
This was to prevent Qin Wanwan from thinking the candy came from a shady source.
"Th-thank you." Qin Wanwan quietly accepted it and wanted to offer a return gift, only to realize she had nothing decent to take out.
She only had two steamed buns and a jar of chili sauce.
After hesitating for a long time, she finally took them out. "I... I only have these."
"Steamed buns? I haven't had those in ages, thanks." Wang Mingyu chuckled.
The opportunity had arrived, and he remembered this part of the plot crystal clear!
Taking advantage of her unpreparedness, Wang Mingyu picked up both steamed buns and stuffed them into his mouth in one go.
Under Qin Wanwan's shocked gaze, Wang Mingyu devoured both steamed buns completely.
"B-but those are mine, that's my food for the next two days..." Qin Wanwan said timidly.
At that moment, she was so anxious she was on the verge of tears. She never expected that two steamed buns would only trade for a single piece of candy.
She regretted it now more than anything; if she had known, she wouldn't have taken them out.
"Huh? These are your meals for two days? Sorry, sorry, I didn't know." Wang Mingyu pressed his palms together in apology. "Well, nothing for it, I'll just have to compensate you."
"N-no need." Qin Wanwan shook her head dejectedly.
Lowering her head, she thought to herself: Can a single piece of candy last two days? If I eat it very slowly...
"Come on now, no refusing me." Wang Mingyu put on a fierce expression. "Refusing me is a terrifying thing!"
"Ah, ah..." Qin Wanwan was so flustered that tears welled up in her eyes.
Just what kind of person had she managed to provoke?
