Seeing Wang Mingyu holding Lin Linyu and fooling around, Jiang Feng curled his lips. "Hey, can you two actually get to work?"
Hearing this, Lin Linyu froze, lowering her head in embarrassment.
Wang Mingyu leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I think I heard a dog barking. Did you hear it?"
"Pfft—" Lin Linyu covered her mouth and chuckled, shaking her head. "N-no, I didn't hear anything."
"Ah, that's right. Shall we continue?"
"N-no... is this really okay?"
"It's fine, we're not in a hurry anyway." Wang Mingyu blinked, acting as if he hadn't heard Jiang Feng at all, and continued picking up trash intimately with Lin Linyu.
Mu Yunxi pouted in deep displeasure.
Why wasn't she the one who sprained her ankle?!
It looked like so much fun!
She wanted to play too!
Since there wasn't much work to begin with, they quickly finished picking up the trash and packed everything away.
Wang Mingyu helped Lin Linyu into the car.
No matter what, they couldn't stay all over each other forever.
The group headed back.
Wang Mingyu returned home.
Suddenly, a smooth, snow-white slender leg struck toward him.
"Thud—!"
With a single kick, Wang Mingyu was sent sprawling to the floor.
Wang Mingyu lay there in a daze, staring up at the young woman before him.
He had almost forgotten that there was such a creature waiting for him at home.
Wang Qingying wore silk stockings on her legs as she planted a kick right on Wang Mingyu's face. "Hmph, you lost."
Wang Mingyu wore an expression of pure bliss; this kind of scene was simply the stuff of his dreams.
"Hey, pervert, where have you been? What happened to telling me a bedtime story like you promised?!" Wang Qingying demanded angrily.
Wang Mingyu reached out to block Wang Qingying's soft, jade-like sole, saying timidly, "I went camping. Didn't you say it had to be a hundred days in a row? Today is day one, so don't you dare try to back out."
Wang Qingying jerked her leg away, but Wang Mingyu tightly grabbed onto her foot and refused to let go.
"Bastard! Let go right now!"
"Tsk, just a little longer!"
"No way! Pervert!"
At that moment, Shen Ruoyun walked over. "What... are you two doing?"
"Ah?" Seeing Shen Ruoyun approach, Wang Mingyu immediately released his grip, stood up, and greeted her. "Good day, Mother."
"Hehe, you two really get along so well." Shen Ruoyun covered her mouth and smiled.
"We do not!" Wang Qingying retorted.
"Where is Mother going? Do you need any help?" Wang Mingyu rubbed his palms together, stepped behind Shen Ruoyun, and began massaging her shoulders.
"Hehe, Mingyu really has been different lately," Shen Ruoyun said. "You just stay home and keep your sister company. I'm going to play mahjong with the wealthy ladies."
"Oh, oh, got it. Wishing Mother a triumphant victory."
"Alright, alright. Let me know if you need money."
"Mm-mm, goodbye, Mother!" Wang Mingyu waved, watching Shen Ruoyun as she walked away.
Come to think of it, Shen Ruoyun was still an elegant noblewoman about to turn thirty.
She kept herself up even better than some female college students, hehe.
It seemed... well, was that even allowed? Hehehehe.
Wang Qingying frowned, thoroughly irritated by the smug, punchable look on Wang Mingyu's face.
She had a strong feeling he was harboring some crooked intentions.
Nighttime.
Wang Qingying's bedroom.
Wang Mingyu sat on a small chair while Wang Qingying lay on her side, watching him.
The chilly moonlight streamed in through the window, bathing Wang Mingyu in its glow. The boy under the moonlight held a storybook and began to read aloud slowly,
"Once upon a time, a little white rabbit and a big brown bear were walking through the forest when they accidentally kicked over a kettle.
A genie popped out of the kettle and told them it could grant each of them three wishes.
The bear said it wanted to become the strongest bear in the world. Its wish was granted. The rabbit said it wanted a small helmet. Its wish was granted too.
The bear said it wanted to become the most handsome bear in the world. Its wish was granted once again. The rabbit said it wanted a bicycle. Its wish was granted as well. The bear said, 'Turn all the other bears in the world into female bears!'
The rabbit hopped on its bicycle, pedaling away as it said, 'Turn this bear into a homosexual...'"
"Pfft, ahahahahaha!"
Wang Mingyu burst into sidesplitting laughter, while Wang Qingying's face was plastered with utter helplessness.
To be able to crack yourself up while telling a story—he was truly one of a kind!
"Hey, can you take this seriously? How am I supposed to sleep when you act like this!" Furious, Wang Qingying kicked Wang Mingyu right in the face.
Wang Mingyu cupped her foot in his hands, his breath rising and falling in rhythm.
"Σ(っ°Д°;)っ You really are a pervert when people call you one!" Wang Qingying delivered another kick, knocking Wang Mingyu flat on his back.
Wang Mingyu got up and scratched his head. "How was I supposed to know you wouldn't laugh?"
"I'm trying to sleep! Why are you trying to make me laugh?!"
"Oh, oh, you're going to sleep. I just thought you were in a bad mood and wanted to cheer you up."
"Hmph, unserious."
"Alright, alright. I'll tell a different one, okay?" Wang Mingyu stood up, pulled the blanket up a bit higher, and seized the chance to ruffle Wang Qingying's hair.
"Stop taking advantage of me." A blush crept across Wang Qingying's face.
She honestly couldn't handle Wang Mingyu when he was like this.
It was bad enough that he was handsome, but he had to be this smooth too!
"Hehe, because I like you." Wang Mingyu smiled faintly.
He sat back down and started telling another story,
"Once upon a time, a king wanted to hold a bride contest for the princess. He placed an apple on the princess's head, and whoever hit it first would have the chance to win her hand.
The first gentleman hit the apple. Then he blew on the muzzle of his gun and said, 'Pew pew.'
The second gentleman also hit the apple. Then he blew on the muzzle of his gun too and said, 'Pew pew pew.'
The last gentleman accidentally shot and killed the princess. Then he also blew on the muzzle of his gun and said, 'I am sorry~'"
"Pfft—"
Wang Mingyu started to laugh, but remembering the fate he had just suffered, he forced it back down.
"Pfft—" Wang Qingying laughed out loud first. "Haha, hahaha..."
Wang Mingyu paused, stunned. He had never seen such a beautiful smile; it looked like a wounded angel that had just been licked by a dog.
Wait, no! What kind of comparison was that, hey!
"Hahahahaha..." Wang Qingying stopped laughing, though the smile still lingered on her face. Staring at Wang Mingyu, she said, "Your English sounds so funny. Didn't I hire an English tutor for you back then? Why does your pronunciation still sound so weird?"
Wang Mingyu broke out in a cold sweat, never expecting the former Wang Mingyu to have had such privileges.
Given how useless his English skills always became at critical moments, it really was somewhat...
"I don't know either." Wang Mingyu pouted, acting cute. "English is just really hard for me."
Wang Qingying smiled faintly. "Hey, you said you liked me... are you serious or not?"
"Of course it's true, truer than pearls!"
"Please, that's such an ancient joke."
"But... I've liked you ever since it was still ancient."
