At first, Xu Wei’s lackey thought the boy was faking it and didn’t pay it much mind, but before long, he began to feel that something was wrong. The boy was trembling from his face down to his limbs, his entire body seized by violent convulsions. No one could possibly fake that! He might look like a Huaguo local, but he had grown up on foreign food, and his constitution had clearly changed. Never having encountered such a situation, the lackey didn’t dare delay. He threw a coat over the boy and ran toward the rendezvous point as if his life depended on it. As soon as Xu Wei regained consciousness, he frantically patted himself down to check on his "treasures." Thankfully, they were all still there, though the items felt different now. With no time for a careful inspection, the lackey returned carrying his golden goose. Getting the boy here safely was more than half the battle. Xu Wei struggled to his feet, ignoring the pain, but even before he could speak, he saw that something was amiss.
