Just as she was basking in the hard-won fruits of her victory, a shrill, ear-piercing female voice cut through the crowd. Looking up, she saw Sang Yanfei and her brother rushing over, looking aggressive. The woman seemed quite satisfied with the commotion she had caused, a trace of imperceptible amusement flickering in her eyes. However, at a nudge from her second brother, a look of indignant rage quickly spread across her sour, mean-spirited face. She trotted all the way to Sang Zhi and, with a look of "I'm doing this for your own good," prepared to slap her. She had reasoned that it would be best if Sang Zhi fought back; with so many people watching, seeing Sang Zhi strike an elder would be enough to drown her in public condemnation. If she didn't fight back, hitting her would at least settle the score for the last time she had been struck.
