Lin Zezu pointed out the location and planned boundaries for the new house. After walking the perimeter to inspect the site, Lin Zede remarked, "Building here is no problem. The soil foundation is very firm."
Lin Zezu seized the opportunity to present his own ideas. What followed stunned Lin Zede; this was no mere child's fancy, but the insight of a master craftsman. Lin Zezu spoke of material specifications, the depth of the foundation, the height of the main hall’s ridge, the use of extra-wide eaves supported by pillars, and, most notably, the integration of a washroom and latrine with a septic tank, as well as the layout of the side wings.
