The two arrived before the tea-roasting workshop. Lin Zede, having heard from Lin Zezu that the tea production had yet to succeed, could not be bothered to inspect the workshop. To him, this was merely a child playing games, squandering money on a whim. Lin Zezu pointed out the location and planned boundaries for the new house. After walking the perimeter to inspect the site, Lin Zede remarked, "Building here is no problem. The soil foundation is very firm." Lin Zezu seized the opportunity to present his own ideas. What followed stunned Lin Zede; this was no mere child's fancy, but the insight of a master craftsman. Lin Zezu spoke of material specifications, the depth of the foundation, the height of the main hall’s ridge, the use of extra-wide eaves supported by pillars, and, most notably, the integration of a washroom and latrine with a septic tank, as well as the layout of the side wings. By the time Lin Zezu showed him the drafted blueprints, Lin Zede’s jaw dropped in disbelief.
