"Go, Hierophant Green, pull us onto the ship."
After a strenuous bout of rowing, the small boats finally pulled alongside the large steamship. To solve the problem of getting on board, Kakyoin summoned Hierophant Green. Transforming the Stand into a rope-like shape, it hoisted them up onto the vessel! Meanwhile, Joseph Joestar wasn't just standing around; his Stand, Hermit Purple, finally proved useful in this situation. He summoned the vine-like Hermit Purple, anchored it to the ship's rigging, and wrapped it around a sailor to pull everyone up.
After considerable effort, everyone from the small boats finally made it onto the steamship!
At this point, Joseph Joestar straightened his clothes, turned to the others, and said, "Stay here and don't move. I'll go negotiate with the captain of this ship and see if he can give us a ride along the way and drop us off in India!" With that, Joseph Joestar headed toward the wheelhouse on the ship.
Since this wasn't their own ship and they were strangers in unfamiliar territory—effectively acting as stowaways—none of them dared to move around recklessly, so they simply stayed put and waited.
Before long, Joseph Joestar returned with a beaming smile, accompanied by a stern, imposing middle-aged white man. Seeing Joseph Joestar's smiling face, the group knew things were mostly settled, but until the ship's captain made his stance clear, they didn't dare to get too bold.
When the two men approached, Joseph Joestar introduced them with a wide smile: "Captain Tennille! These are the people I was just telling you about. Our boat was in an accident, wrecked and sank in the sea. We need you to give us a ride and drop us off at an Indian port."
Upon hearing Joseph Joestar's words, the white man addressed as Captain Tennille scanned the group with a solemn expression. He frowned, fell silent for a few seconds, and then slowly nodded.
"If it's just these people, that's not a problem," he said. "However, this isn't free. You'll need to pay a certain fee. After all, judging by your actions just now, if I wanted to press the issue, it could be considered stowing away."
Joseph Joestar had no objection to this. With a broad smile, he pulled Captain Tennille aside! Then, fishing out his recently recovered wallet, he took out a check, pulled a fountain pen from his pocket to write down a string of numbers, and handed it to Captain Tennille.
After accepting Joseph Joestar's check and exchanging a few parting words of instruction, Captain Tennille walked away with the check in hand.
Standing on the deck, Jodio Joestar watched Captain Tennille leave with the check. Knowing how the plot unfolded, he had already made up his mind.
At that moment, Joseph Joestar walked over, having finished all the arrangements, and said with a beaming smile: "It's all settled now! Everything's been agreed upon. But since this isn't our own ship, there are a few things I need to tell you. Captain Tennille has a personal aversion to mess—he doesn't allow littering, wasting food or water, or smoking on board the ship. He'll let everyone choose a few rooms inside the ship to rest in, but unless necessary, you're not allowed to wander around the interior of the ship at will. Those are pretty much the rules. Now everyone can go find a room and get some rest."
Hearing this, everyone present finally let out a sigh of relief!
The group then dispersed. Having rowed for so long, they desperately needed a good rest. Jodio Joestar also used the excuse of going to the restroom to start exploring the inside of the ship.
Sure enough, just as he expected, in one of the rooms deep within the ship, he found a brown ape locked inside an iron cage, smoking a cigarette and reading a magazine!
Upon seeing Jodio Joestar, the ape merely cast a contemptuous glance at him, then went right back to its magazine, showing no intention of paying Jodio Joestar any mind whatsoever.
Having confirmed a certain suspicion, Jodio Joestar's mood instantly lightened.
Without a shred of politeness toward the ape, Jodio Joestar coated his fist in Armament Haki and delivered a lightning-fast punch straight at the cage in front of him. With a single blow, the iron cage was smashed to pieces.
The ape was scared out of its wits by the sight!
Taking advantage of its momentary daze, Jodio Joestar struck it with another punch, knocking it cold. He then summoned The Winged Dragon of Ra, pried the ape's mouth open, and deposited a ball of light inside.
After finishing all this, Jodio Joestar withdrew the Armament Haki from his hand and snapped his fingers lightly.
Instantly, the unconscious ape jolted awake in agony, clutching its stomach and rolling all over the floor in pain. Jodio Joestar watched coldly for a full minute before snapping his fingers once more to relieve the ape's suffering.
By this time, the ape had lost all its previous arrogance and collapsed limply onto the floor in utter exhaustion.
Jodio Joestar walked over, placed a foot on its head, and said, "I know you can understand human speech, so I'm not going to waste words with you. If I'm not mistaken, this ship is your Stand, right? From now on, you're going to behave yourself and get our party safely to India. Don't even think about attacking us, or I'll make you wish you were dead. I'm not as magnanimous as Dio, and I keep my promises!"
With that, Jodio Joestar snapped his fingers again, and the ape—which had barely found a few seconds of peace—instantly began to convulse and tremble in agony. Before it could let out a scream, Jodio Joestar snapped his fingers once more to end its torment.
Once it had calmed down again, The Winged Dragon of Ra, hovering behind Jodio Joestar, let out a fierce roar directly at the ape. The overwhelming pressure of a divine beast swept over it without reservation.
The result, naturally, went without saying: faced with such terrifying intimidation, the mere beast was frightened to the point of wetting itself.
Trembling with terror, it looked up at Jodio Joestar and The Winged Dragon of Ra before flipping over to lie prone on the floor, groveling in complete submission, so scared that tears were streaming from its eyes.
Catching the reek of urine rising from the floor, Jodio Joestar's brow furrowed into a tight knot! He barked sternly: "Alright, that's enough! Now, remember to clean up the mess on the floor, fix the cage back up, and behave yourself!"
With that, Jodio Joestar pinched his nose and turned to leave.
The ape remained trembling flat on the floor until about ten minutes after Jodio Joestar had departed, at which point it timidly got back up. Looking around the empty room, it shuddered as it used its power to open a seam in the ship's floorboards, letting in seawater to wash the floor clean before restoring it to its original state.
Then, like a frightened quail, the ape carefully crawled back into the cage and repaired the iron bars back to the way they were.
