Tang Hu and Li Qiang grew up in a small county town under Jinghai City, living an ordinary and uneventful life with very few changes. They had assumed that their days would continue to pass by just like that, peaceful and unremarkable. Fate, however, took a turn amidst the surging wave of urban construction.
At the time, urban construction required massive amounts of sand, and rumors spread that sand mining could yield a fortune. Li Qiang, bold and daring, decided to rent two ships to start sand-mining operations. The problem, however, was that Li Qiang had no money whatsoever to pay the rent. Relying entirely on his smooth tongue, he successfully persuaded the shipowner and promised to pay the fees in the future. As a result, the two brothers, Tang Hu and Tang Long, were tasked with staking out the shipowner's doorstep and threatening him to ensure that the sand mining could continue without interruption.
As time went on, the sand-mining business gradually developed, though the profits were not particularly striking. Even so, because Li Qiang was usually loyal to his friends and enjoyed a certain reputation in the county town, they managed to scrape by.
