Because plants stopped growing and seeds ceased to sprout, many herbivores found themselves with no grass left to eat once they finished what remained. The grass-eating animals began to starve, and the carnivores that preyed upon them would soon face a world without meat once the herbivores were gone. Yet, one thing was notably better than before. In the past, massive numbers of animals dying from starvation and disease would have bred great calamities, powerful ghosts, and chaos among mortals.
