Black Cat Bar "Boss, all the information you asked us to investigate is right here." A mobster-type man stood trembling in front of Rex. "Leave it. Scornfully, Rex glanced at the man and dismissed him with a wave. With every muscle in his face twitching, the man harbored a fear of Rex that seemed carved into his very DNA. Hearing the command to get lost, he instinctively scrambled away from Rex in a panic. "Wang Yase." Looking over the files in his hands, Rex didn't care about a mere KO.3. However, Mayao’s Battle Power Index of over ten thousand, combined with exquisite martial arts techniques, made things tricky for him. More importantly, the Medical Immortal Ma Xilin—a powerhouse with a Battle Power Index reaching a staggering twenty thousand—made him even more hesitant to act rashly. If not for... Just as a thought formed, a green mist washed over Rex, gradually fading away a moment later. What was I just doing? Shaking his head, Rex figured he must just be exhausted lately. "Dadong, sooner or later, I'm taking your life." Rex stared darkly at a photo of the four of them, the way Anqi looked at Wang Dadong driving him to a maddening jealousy.
Martial Arts Judgment Bureau "Oh, Rex fits the demonic nature so well. Hmph, obsessed with mortal romance and he's nothing more than waste." Heilong listened to his subordinate's report. "Let him go test the bottom line of Dao Feng first." A trace of fear flashed across Heilong's eyes. That day, the aura of death had brushed past him by a hair's breadth. "Dao Feng, I refuse to believe you don't know the restrictions of the dimension. As long as I achieve full demonic ascension, not even you will be able to stop me then." Thinking of this, Heilong couldn't help laughing out loud. "I'm starving. I need to go grab a bite outside. I'll go find that useless Duan Changren." Heilong turned with a haughty sniff and vanished in a flash of green light.
Duan Changren's Stall "Strange, why do my accounts never seem to balance lately?" Completely unaware that the meal he had just finished cooking had vanished in a flash of green light. "Huh?" Duan Changren was still staring at the ledger before him, just about to eat. "Where's my meal?" Duan Changren's head kept spinning around and around in bewilderment.
Rex walked out of the hotel and headed toward home. "Rex." Dressed all in white, Mayao shouldered a scythe and blocked Rex's path. "I have a lot of doubts that I feel need answering from you." Before the words had even faded, the scythe in his hand was already slashing toward Rex's chest. A ferocious-looking glove wreathed in green light caught the blade. Rex’s sinister, bloodthirsty eyes gleamed as the Hand of Ares clamped down hard on the scythe, holding it dead in its tracks. *Crack, crunch.* "It really is you, Rex! What on earth has happened to you?" The chain on the scythe's handle tightened. Seeing that he couldn't destroy this divine weapon, Rex pulled his hand back in frustration. "A-yao, I hope you won't meddle in the business between Dadong and me." Rex clenched his fists so hard they popped. "You want me not to meddle? Take a good look at yourself, Rex! Are you still the brother I used to know?" Mayao asked, grief tearing at his heart. "Is our brotherhood of all these years just a lie to you?" Mayao roared at Rex in fury. His Battle Power Index surged, transforming into golden flames that pressed down toward Rex. Meeting Mayao's angry gaze, Rex felt a sharp, piercing pain drive deep into his heart. "A-yao, I'll say this one last time: I hope you don't interfere in the matter between Dadong and me. Until this is resolved, the thorn in my heart will never disappear." Rex slowly turned around and pulled his hood up over his head. "Rex!" The golden flames blazed even higher, their fierce, fiery battle energy blazing brightly in the night. "That Ma Xilin actually raised a good son. Looks like this little fellow is going to inherit the ultimate techniques of the Gold Dimension." Leaning against a streetlight, a mustache-wearing, sleazy-looking man narrowed his eyes as he watched Mayao gradually calm down. "And this Gold Pentateuch is about to release its eighth volume, hahahahaha." Qian Laiye stroked his mustache with a chuckle and walked away. Mayao had originally intended to go toe-to-toe with Rex, but remembering their past friendship—and noticing that beneath Rex's strange, foul odor, there still lingered a trace of his old, familiar refreshing scent—he hesitated. "Rex, you better not cross the line again, or else..." *Battle Power Index fluctuating—* Driven by anger, the potential deep within Mayao's body was rapidly unlocked. Walking slowly back home, his surging Battle Power Index gradually dropped back down to ten thousand before vanishing completely. A trace of sorrow tinged the edges of Mayao's eyes, though he quickly masked it the moment he stepped through his front door. Mayao understood that Rex wouldn't stop until he tried to see this through to the end.
Moonlight spilled through the window into a dark, gloomy room. "Dadong..." Rex lay on the sofa, his gaze indifferent and his expression numb as he stared at the Hand of Ares resting on the table before him.
The pleasant holiday quickly came to an end. Anqi sat at her desk, and the nearby classmates immediately caught the urge to bully this well-behaved girl. Just as the crowd was about to step forward, Mayao cast a glance at Anqi. "Anqi, you really came to study in Ultimate Class 1." Mayao looked at this well-behaved heiress. Is this what love looks like, chasing him all the way from America? Seeing this, the crowd immediately dismissed their previous thoughts. Dadong arrived in the classroom shortly after, walking in only to see Anqi sitting right there at the desk. *Whoosh...* The dust settled, and a vanishing act had taken place. Anqi lowered her head in disappointment, though she pulled herself together quickly. She secretly cheered herself on. "Dadong, if you keep running away, Anqi is going to cry." Mayao transmitted his voice directly to Dadong, who was hiding outside. "How was I supposed to know Anqi would come to our classroom for class? No way, I'm taking a few days off." Wang Dadong made to bolt. A fist swung toward Dadong. Caught off guard, Dadong instinctively threw a punch in return. "Dadong, Anqi ran thousands of miles back just for you. If you keep running away like this, don't blame me for being heartless." Mayao was furious; after all, this guy always resorted to running away. "If you keep dragging this out, you're only going to hurt Anqi over and over again. Are you an idiot?" Exasperated by Dadong's denseness, Mayao threw one last punch at Wang Dadong and stormed back into the classroom in a rage. Dadong never expected his good friend to get this angry. Wang Yase and Ding Xiaoyu looked at Wang Dadong with helpless expressions. "Megalomaniac, even after just getting to know her a little bit, we'd still be pretty pissed off, you know." "I think acting like this, Dadong, you're only going to ruin that girl." Ding Xiaoyu also wore a dead-serious expression. Seeing that neither of them supported him either, Wang Dadong fell silent. Rex slowly walked in from outside. Seeing Wang Dadong standing at the door, he pushed up his glasses. "Dadong, why aren't you going inside?" Rex walked up and looked at Dadong. "Oh, Rei..." "Dadong, why is Rex standing at the door?" Tian Xin looked at the two of them. Catching sight of Tian Xin, Wang Dadong's expression grew even more complicated as he slowly followed her into the classroom. Mayao's words echoed endlessly in his ears. Dadong's limited brain capacity was now entirely occupied by heavy contemplation. Watching Dadong struggle with whatever was on his mind. He shook his head. "Dadong, what do you think would happen if the homeroom teacher fell in love and decided to leave this city?" Mayao sent a telepathic message to Wang Dadong, throwing a little extra fuel on the fire. "What?!" Wang Dadong instantly threw everything else out of his head. Seeing Wang Dadong react with such intensity. "Dadong, why did you suddenly stand up? Is something wrong?" Tian Xin looked at Wang Dadong in puzzlement. "Ah, n-no, nothing at all, homeroom teacher." Wang Dadong stammered as he sat back down. Watching Wang Dadong's antics, Anqi realized that what Mayao had told her earlier wasn't a lie, and she let out a soft sigh.
