Chapter 12

They had arrived in grand style, transforming into Leo and flying the entire way. Over that short distance it took no time at all, but the return journey turned into a real problem.
They couldn't possibly turn back into Leo and fly home again, could they?
Not with such a high profile—the saucer alien's saucers weren't just for show.
The two of them stared at each other in dismay for a long time before finally deciding to seek help from the island's residents.
Fortunately, Kuroshio Island had not sunk, and its inhabitants were mostly unharmed. After searching for a long time, the pair finally found a household with a speedboat whose owner was willing to take money to send them back to Tokyo.
You have to hand it to the people living in the Ultraman universe—they all had nerves of steel, stepping right back out to make money immediately after surviving a brush with death.
"Living isn't easy~"
Standing at the stern of the speedboat amidst the splashing spray, watching Kuroshio Island recede into the distance, Minghui and Feng Yuan exchanged a smile.
"Hold on tight, you two, we're speeding up!" the boatman shouted.
Amidst cries of surprise from Minghui and Feng Yuan, the speedboat surged forward.
............
Jonan Sports Club.
Momoko Yamaguchi's astonished voice rang out: "Feng Yuan, where have the two of you been? How did you end up in this state?!"
Minghui and Feng Yuan exchanged a glance and laughed awkwardly.
Indeed, the two of them looked rather disheveled at the moment. Not only were they soaked to the bone, but their hair was blown wild and messy by the wind, and a fish was even sticking out of Minghui's trench coat pocket.
"Feng Yuan and I took a walk by the seaside, caught a fish on the way, and well, one thing led to another, hahaha." Minghui smoothed back his hair and pulled the fish out of his pocket to give it a shake.
"It's huge!"
Momoko Yamaguchi gasped in surprise, then turned away to fetch a container and carefully placed the fish inside.
When she looked back up, however, her cheeks were puffed out in mild vexation as she chided Feng Yuan, "You're not children anymore. How do you manage to look like this just from catching a fish? Go wash up and change into some dry clothes."
"Uh..." Feng Yuan looked at Minghui. He had wanted to dive straight back into training the moment they returned.
"Go on," Minghui waved a hand. "There's no way you can train while soaking wet."
"All right." Feng Yuan nodded.
There was a shower room inside the club, and Minghui casually picked one to clean up. Clothing presented a bit of a problem, however; ever since he crossed over, this was the only set of clothes he owned, with no spare outfit to change into.
Fortunately, Feng Yuan brought him a set of clothes shortly afterward. Their builds were similar, though Minghui was a bit taller than Feng Yuan, so it was a tight fit.
As soon as both of them had finished cleaning up, Feng Yuan came looking for him, eager to plunge right into the next phase of training.
Seeing his thigh-man working this hard, what more could Minghui say? He could only readily agree.
Minghui didn't know the exact location where Lord Seven had put Feng Yuan through special training in the original story, so he had no way of leading him there.
However, when they were being ferried back from Kuroshio Island, Minghui had spotted a rather suitable spot for training and led Feng Yuan straight there.
"The second phase of training is designed to boost your attacking power. Although your spinning speed can now keep up with the Ghirahim brothers, your strength is still not enough to deal them a fatal blow with a single strike."
By the rocky seaside, Minghui explained to Feng Yuan.
"Speed can enhance your attacking power, and given your current rotational speed, the boost in strength will be considerable. But you aren't fully harnessing that power yet, so this phase of special training is meant to sharpen your technique in that regard."
"I see!" Feng Yuan exclaimed in sudden enlightenment.
"Let's begin." Minghui smiled, pointing to a huge boulder in front of them. "Your target is this rock. The moment you can kick it apart using the power of your spin, you'll have succeeded."
"Understood!" Feng Yuan nodded, his expression turning serious as he suddenly leaped high into the air.
"Hiyah!"
Next came a scientifically impossible sight: despite having nothing to push off against, Feng Yuan began spinning in place in midair without immediately falling.
It was a good thing this place was so desolate; otherwise, if ordinary people had witnessed this scene, they certainly would have hailed him as an immortal.
Minghui looked up at the endlessly spinning Feng Yuan, deep in thought. He noticed a peculiar energy radiating around Feng Yuan at that moment—it was precisely this energy that kept him suspended in midair without falling.
And this energy bore a resemblance to the technique he had used to block the tsunami after transforming into his Ultra Body.
Could it be Ultra Telekinesis?
Minghui guessed inwardly.
After that, Feng Yuan continued his training while Minghui left, returning to the sports club where he had an appointment.
"Clack, clack..."
The sound of metal striking the ground drew closer and closer as Dan Moroboshi walked in. "Minghui, you wanted to see me."
"Captain Dan, please teach me Ultra Telekinesis!" Minghui stepped up to Dan Moroboshi and bow deeply.
Even with a powerful mentor to carry you, you couldn't just coast like a lazy fish.
While Feng Yuan was working hard, he couldn't afford to sit idle either, and right now he had the most suitable teacher imaginable, so Minghui decided to try learning a trick or two from Lord Seven.
While Ultra Telekinesis wasn't a heavily offensive combat skill, if he could master it, at the very least he wouldn't be completely helpless the next time he encountered a tsunami.
Dan Moroboshi looked slightly surprised, but his expression quickly smoothed out. "Get up. I can teach you."
"Actually, I've noticed your flaws as well. Your hand-to-hand combat is poor, and your utilization of energy is off—you haven't tapped into the potential within your body at all."
Minghui felt rather awkward. Whenever he used to watch Ultraman shows, the monsters' movements always seemed so sluggish that he frequently found himself thinking, *I could do that too.* But only after truly coming face-to-face with a monster did he realize they weren't stupid at all. He really couldn't do it!
"Let's go, we'll change locations." Dan Moroboshi turned around, raising his cane, and walked outside with a steady rhythm in his shoulders.
Minghui hurriedly followed behind him.
"I watched your battle. That move pushing back the tsunami already had the embryonic form of Ultra Telekinesis, but the energy consumption was far too high, and many of the techniques were incorrect. You pulled it off mostly through sheer luck."
"Still, with that experience under your belt, mastering Ultra Telekinesis should go a bit faster." On the way, Dan Moroboshi turned his head to tell Minghui.
Just as he thought, his guess was spot on!
Minghui's heart stirred.
"Tell me, do you not know any beam attacks at all?"
"Uh..." Minghui smiled awkwardly and nodded.
"In that case, if we can get our hands on some Spacium material, it might allow you to learn that technique." Dan Moroboshi rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Really?" Minghui's eyes lit up with excitement.
Spacium Ray!
The signature beam skill used by so many powerhouses—tremendous destructive power paired with low energy consumption. If he could learn this, he could finally consider himself combat-ready!
"Don't get ahead of yourself. Step inside." Dan Moroboshi's words cut off Minghui's train of thought.
Minghui looked ahead and saw a small building nestled just outside the sports club, not very large, resembling a warehouse.
"President Omura and I get along well. I rented this from him to store some miscellaneous items." Dan Moroboshi stood in the doorway and explained to Minghui.
Minghui nodded and stepped through the door.
Just then, his footsteps faltered as the image of Lord Seven training Feng Yuan in the original series flashed suddenly through his mind.
His advancing steps grew heavy, and when he looked up at the building again, a wave of doubt crept into Minghui's heart.
There wouldn't be... a Jeep monster waiting inside, would there?
