Lying on the soft, long-missed large bed, Minghui couldn't tell whether he should be happy or sad. He just stared blankly at the bright ceiling overhead, his eyes devoid of focus.
In reality, however, he wasn't counting how many tiles there were on the ceiling; he was checking the System information.
[Human: Minghui]
[Age: 23]
[Strength: D-]
[Speed: D]
[Special Ability: D+]
The System interface looked rather minimalist. On the right was his full-length portrait, while on the left were just these few brief lines. But that wasn't all—with a mere thought from him, the entire interface began to flip.
[Warrior of Light: ???]
[Rank: Low-Level Warrior]
[Hand-to-Hand Combat: None]
[Skills: None]
The layout was similar to the previous interface, but on the right was only a shadowy figure formed entirely of light, its specific features impossible to make out clearly. The left side was even more absurd: not only was the Ultraman's name not displayed, but the stat panel was also pitifully bare. His rank was merely low-level, and he didn't even have a single hand-to-hand combat technique or beam skill.
Minghui could feel a powerful force surging within his body right now. Relying on this strength, he could transform into the unknown Ultraman mentioned by the System!
No transformation device was needed—just a single thought!
This at least spared him the trouble of having an enemy steal his transformation device.
Yet... this Ultraman seemed a bit weak...
"How wonderful..."
With a low sigh, had he not gotten used to this wretched life over the past few days, Minghui suspected he would shed tears right now.
Good news: the "key element" mentioned by the System had been found, and the System was activated!
Bad news: he had to fight little monsters!
That being said, weak though his Ultraman form might be, he finally had a means of self-preservation in the world of Ultraman Leo. He wouldn't simply be stomped to death by some random monster casually passing by anymore.
Besides, it wasn't like he was left to fight all alone. Didn't they have our down-and-out Crown Prince from L77 right here?
"Decided! From today on, I'm hugging this thick thigh!" Minghui's gaze turned resolute as he made up his mind in his heart.
"Ah... Mr. Minghui, you're awake!"
At that moment, Masashi Omura poked his head in from the doorway, his face beaming with surprise.
"President Omura!" Minghui sat up from the bed and sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "I'm terribly sorry for causing you so much trouble."
"Oh, that's nothing. But you—suddenly passing out like that really gave us a fright!" Masashi Omura walked in briskly, his face animated. "Do you have any idea how long you've been out? A whole day and a night!"
Minghui was stunned, never expecting that the System activation would take such a long time!
A wave of lingering fear followed. If the System had activated right in the middle of the battlefield between Leo and the monster, his little life would surely have been done for.
Still, a whole day had passed—surely the Battle of Kuroshio Island was already over by now? Had Lord Seven's leg been broken yet?
"Ah, right! You must be starving after sleeping for so long!" Masashi Omura slapped his forehead and turned to call out, "Momoko! Mr. Minghui is awake, bring some food!"
"Uh..." Minghui reached out a hand. The reserve characteristic of being Chinese made him want to refuse, but his rumbling stomach paid him no heed.
"Mr. Omura really is such a kind person!" With a smiling sigh, Minghui climbed out of bed.
Strangely enough, despite feeling famished, he felt an endless reservoir of strength in his body. He felt as though he could go out and run a marathon right now without any problem.
Glancing around, a wardrobe in the corner caught his eye. He walked slowly over to it, grabbed both sides with his hands, and with just a slight exertion, lifted the entire wardrobe right off the floor.
"My strength has increased a lot!"
Minghui grinned, guessing that because he had become an Ultraman, even his human flesh and blood had grown considerably stronger.
"Such incredible strength..."
An exclamation came from behind him. Minghui hurriedly put the wardrobe down and turned around to look.
Masashi Omura had returned, and not just him—a young woman and a young man were following close behind.
The exclamation had come from the young man.
"Mr. Minghui, you've just woken up, you shouldn't be making such strenuous movements." Masashi Omura's tone carried a hint of gentle reproach. "Oh right, let me introduce you. This is Momoko Yamaguchi, and this is Takeshi Nomura. They're both coaches at the club."
"Sorry about that. This cabinet looked too well-made, my hands just got itchy and I couldn't help myself." Minghui smiled, then greeted Momoko and the young man.
Masashi Omura tilted his head in confusion. Well-made?
Takeshi Nomura walked over carrying a tray of food and smiled at Minghui. "You must be hungry. Have something to eat first—it's nothing lavish, so please excuse the humble fare."
Looking at the bowl of plain congee, the plate of sushi, and even a few small dishes of side items on the tray, Minghui nearly burst into tears of gratitude. He quickly thanked them, "It's not humble at all, thank you so much!"
He had been eating bread for the past few days until it practically made him nauseous; seeing this spread made it look utterly sumptuous to him.
Sure enough, a happy life was beckoning to him!
"Mr. Minghui, this is your trench coat. I noticed it was a bit dirty, so I washed it." At that moment, Momoko Yamaguchi also walked over, taking the folded garments from her arms and handing them to Minghui.
"Thank you, Miss Momoko, you've gone to so much trouble!" Accepting the freshly washed trench coat, Minghui was pleasantly surprised and thanked her profusely.
Faced with Minghui's thanks, Momoko Yamaguchi offered a strained smile and prepared to step back.
Noticing that something was amiss with her mood, Minghui asked, "Miss Momoko, is something bothering you?"
Before she could reply, Masashi Omura hurried over. "What is it, Momoko? Did something happen?"
"Ah... no... it's just..." Momoko Yamaguchi glanced at Masashi Omura, the worry in her expression finally breaking through. "It's just that Feng Yuan has been missing for a whole day now, and I'm worried about him..."
"Yeah." Masashi Omura's expression also grew heavy. "I heard a monster appeared over at Kuroshio Island as well..."
Hearing him say that, Momoko became even more anxious.
"Huh? Why is it so noisy outside?" Minghui asked in confusion at that moment.
Takeshi Nomura tilted his head to listen, then shook his head blankly. "Noisy? No, I don't hear anything."
"There is. Take a look." Minghui pointed out toward the door.
"Is there really?" Takeshi Nomura was somewhat skeptical, but he obediently walked over to the entrance and looked outside. A moment later, his eyes widened abruptly. "It's Feng..."
A figure wearing an orange uniform walked into the grounds from outside, surrounded by a crowd of cheering children. Seeing Takeshi Nomura, the figure waved happily, "Takeshi, everyone, look! I've joined the MAC team!"
"Feng Yuan!"
Hearing Feng Yuan's voice, Momoko Yamaguchi and Masashi Omura immediately rushed out.
"Feng Yuan, it's so good to see you're safe!"
"Feng Yuan, how did you end up joining the MAC team?"
Behind them, Minghui strolled out at a leisurely pace. Watching Feng Yuan in the center of the crowd, smiling radiantly, he couldn't help but reveal a smile of his own.
The thick thigh has arrived~
Yet soon, his brow furrowed again. A thick thigh was a thick thigh, but Leo at this stage was still rather weak; this thigh wasn't thick enough yet.
What was he supposed to do about that?
Looking at the still somewhat green and inexperienced Feng Yuan, Minghui fell deep into thought.
