Chapter 295

For disciples entering the Three Teachings, the first things they must study are the philosophies and doctrines of these traditions. These doctrines are the source of all methods and the foundation of cultivation in both nature and life; only with this foundation can anything else be discussed, or else everything is just castles in the air. This is the greatest difference between the Three Teachings and ordinary sects. Compared to any flashy techniques, their philosophy is the fundamental root of their power. Take Confucianism as an example. Haoran Qi is a special kind of energy condensed through long-term self-cultivation and resonance with reading. It is one of their most basic and core abilities, capable not only of sensing heaven and earth, but also of exerting powerful psychological deterrence and positive influence on opponents in battle.
