Just as Ji Yunsheng returned to his villa from the bank, his mother called him. "Yunsheng, what on earth were you up to in another province these past few days?" she asked. "How come you wired over so much money? Did you go and do something bad?"
"I didn't do anything bad," Ji Yunsheng replied. "I told you, I'm a cultivator now. I just went to Kunlun Mountain to help some people out, and this is a reward from them. Don't worry, the money is completely clean—it's not from anything illegal. I just wired ten million to you first; use some of it to buy a house when you have time, and go on whatever trips you want with the rest. If it's not enough, I'll send more. Besides, those people are super wealthy, so this amount is just pocket change to them. Don't be afraid to spend it."
Hearing her son say this, Ji Yunsheng's mother finally set her mind at ease, though she still didn't quite believe he had become a cultivator. "Alright then," she said. "Take good care of yourself out there."
"I will," Ji Yunsheng answered.
After hanging up, he thought for a moment and worried that his mother still didn't truly believe him, so he decided to head back home right away and immediately set off in flight.
Half an hour later, Ji Yunsheng flew right up to his house. Dropping down out of the sky gave his mother a terrible start. "Yunsheng?" she asked, scarcely daring to believe her eyes. "How did you fly down from the sky? Weren't you just in another province a moment ago?"
Ji Yunsheng explained everything to her, though she was still in a state of shock. He then channeled a wave of energy into her body to purge all impurities, while leaving behind another reserve of energy that would keep her free of illness for the rest of her life and extend her lifespan by several centuries. Only when his mother noticed that she had grown slimmer and that her body felt remarkably light did she finally believe that her son had truly become a cultivator.
"Do you believe your son is a cultivator now?" Ji Yunsheng asked. "I've also added several centuries to your lifespan. Mom, would you like to cultivate as well?"
"No need," his mother replied. "Now that my son has made something of himself, your mother isn't interested in cultivation. Besides, with several centuries added to my life, I wouldn't even know what to do with myself. Oh, right, go help your grandparents on your mother's side and heal their bodies too. As for your old man, handle him however you see fit."
Ji Yunsheng handed his mother a bank card. "Alright then. Here's a card with another hundred million in cash for you to keep. I'm going to go heal your parents now."
"Go on then!" she said.
Ji Yunsheng went and healed his maternal grandparents. After all, they had always treated him very well since he was little. Once he was finished, he left them a card with thirty million. Then he went to help his maternal uncles, aunts, cousin-brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, purifying everyone's bodies and leaving thirty million for each household. He had to make sure the amounts were equal; otherwise, given the personalities of certain aunts, there would be endless fuss—though his uncles and great-uncles wouldn't make a fuss.
Returning home afterward, he spoke to his mother. "Mom, shall we go into the county town tomorrow to look at houses, or would you rather buy a plot of land right here and build a new house?"
Hearing this, Ji Yunsheng's mother replied, "No need to go buy in the county town. Let's just buy a plot of land right here and build a new house."
Fearing that his mother was simply reluctant to spend money, Ji Yunsheng said, "We can buy a villa in the county town as well. Money is just a number now anyway. We'll buy land here and build a new house, too."
Seeing that her son had made up his mind, Ji Yunsheng's mother didn't object. She still hadn't fully digested everything that had happened; after all, she had spent the greater part of her life following his father without ever knowing a day of ease, and these past few years they had even moved to Chongqing, where his business had failed and he had constantly picked fights with her and demanded a divorce. Now that her son had finally made something of himself, she would just let him handle his father's affairs however he pleased.
Another month passed, and with everything here settled, Ji Yunsheng set out to deal with his father's situation. Before leaving, he also left behind a cultivation manual capable of leading one to ascension, telling the members of his mother's family they could practice it if they wished.
His mother called out as he left, "Make sure you find a time to find a girlfriend and give your mother a grandson or granddaughter to hold!"
Ji Yunsheng acknowledged her words and set off for Chongqing.
Upon arriving in Chongqing, Ji Yunsheng had no idea what to say to his father. Their relationship had been strained since childhood, and whenever they met they would only argue—he had essentially been raised solely by his mother. He went to find his father and grandmother anyway, cleared the impurities from their bodies, added several centuries to their lifespans, and left fifty million and a cultivation manual for them. After briefly explaining that he had healed their bodies and extended their lives, he left without saying anything else. Mostly, he just didn't know what to talk about with his old man, and he couldn't even understand the Chongqing dialect his grandmother spoke, having grown up in Yunnan and never learned it.
Before leaving, he also visited his grandfather's grave. Since his mother had always told him how kind his grandfather had been to him when he was little, and knowing that his grandfather had already been reincarnated, he could only help arrange for his grandfather's next life to be in a wealthy family. Having grown up in Yunnan and never returned to Chongqing, the only time he had ever seen his grandfather was at his funeral, so there wasn't much deep emotional attachment, and this was all he could do.
