The home-style cooking in a small restaurant may not be prepared by a master chef, but it is undeniably delicious. The difference between a small eatery and a grand restaurant lies in the venue, the chef’s credentials, and the variety of the menu. Yet, there is one quality the grand establishments can never match: the warmth of real, everyday life. When the three of them arrived, the restaurant wasn’t very crowded yet. It wasn’t even noon, so the lunch rush hadn't started. They ordered a fish dish, beef with pickled cabbage, tomato and eggs, a plate of greens, and a seaweed and egg soup. Once the food was served, Xi Qiuying took a bite of beef and nodded in approval. "This tastes pretty good."
