Chapter 13

"Classmate Muye, come, say ah."
Li Shujin held a piece of meat toward Chen Muye’s lips with her chopsticks.
"Ah."
Chen Muye opened his mouth.
Li Shujin carefully fed him the meat.
Chen Muye chewed with immense satisfaction. If the "simps" for Li Shujin back at school saw this, they would likely be green with envy. However, what Chen Muye didn’t know was that he didn’t even need to look to the school; right there at the dinner table, there were already three grown men envying him.
These three men were Li Zhengjun, Li Wenrui, and Li Shengxue.
Li Zhengjun only had one daughter, Li Shujin, and had never received such treatment from her himself. As for Li Wenrui and Li Shengxue, they both had sons, so they had experienced it even less. That was why the three men were feeling so sour. Throughout the meal, they had done nothing but watch the two young people flaunt their "affection."
"I’m full."
"I’m full too."
"I’ve had enough."
Li Zhengjun, Li Wenrui, and Li Shengxue set down their chopsticks one after another. All three of them stared unblinkingly as Li Shujin continued to feed Chen Muye.
Chen Muye sensed the atmosphere was off. He thought to himself that it was about time to stop; offending one's future father-in-law would be a bad idea. But just as he was about to speak, Li Tiangang chimed in first: "Little Chen, don't mind them. Let’s just keep eating."
"Uh... alright."
Chen Muye had no choice but to let Li Shujin keep feeding him.
Half an hour later, Chen Muye really couldn't eat another bite. He had only intended to have a light meal, but Li Shujin’s feeding had been so frequent that his stomach was visibly bulging.
"Classmate Shujin, I’m stuffed."
Li Shujin glanced at the dishes left on the table. "Are you full? There's still so much left. Why don't you have a little more?"
Chen Muye shook his head hurriedly; he truly couldn't manage any more. "I’m really full, thank you, Classmate Shujin."
"Alright then, you’re welcome."
Only then did Li Shujin put down her chopsticks.
After the meal, Chen Muye chatted briefly with Li Tiangang before planning to head home. Li Tiangang wanted to have Li Shengxue drive Chen Muye home, but Li Shengxue said he had urgent business at the company and had to return. Li Tiangang then suggested Li Zhengjun or Li Wenrui, but one claimed they had to work overtime at the Security Bureau, and the other said they had to return to the hospital for overtime, so neither could take him. In the end, they had no choice but to let Li Shujin drive Chen Muye home.
Downstairs at the apartment complex, Li Shujin led Chen Muye to a white Porsche 911.
"Get in."
"Alright."
The two got into the car, and Li Shujin started the engine. Soon, the vehicle pulled out of the complex and onto the wide road.
Chen Muye hadn't expected that Li Shujin would own a Porsche 911 at such a young age. This was something an ordinary person might not be able to afford even after a lifetime of hard work. But then again, it made sense: she had an uncle who drove a Rolls-Royce, and her father was a powerful figure in the Security Bureau. Having a Porsche 911 wasn't that strange.
Li Shujin didn't drive very fast, likely because she was a beginner. Chen Muye didn't rush her; with female drivers, it was best not to talk and distract them while they were at the wheel, or you might end up wrapped around a utility pole the next second. Thus, Chen Muye chose to remain silent.
However, Li Shujin didn't know what Chen Muye was thinking. She took the initiative to start a conversation: "Classmate Muye, I saw an interesting piece of news today."
Since Li Shujin had spoken, Chen Muye couldn't ignore her. "Oh? What news?"
"It said a panda got into someone's house last night and refused to leave, so the Forestry Bureau had to send people over to take care of it."
"Uh... is there a possibility that the house was mine?"
"Huh?"
Li Shujin’s eyes lit up as she glanced at Chen Muye.
Chen Muye quickly reminded her: "Watch the road."
Li Shujin didn't take it to heart. "Don't worry, I got my professional racing license at sixteen and even won first place in the Porsche Carrera Cup."
Chen Muye froze. So, the clown was actually me. No wonder Grandpa Li was comfortable letting Li Shujin drive him home. Still, he had to stick to his own bottom line. "You should still be careful."
Li Shujin ignored his comment and asked excitedly, "You just said you were the one the panda wouldn't leave?"
Chen Muye nodded. "Yeah, I got home last night and found..."
Chen Muye recounted what had happened the night before.
"Hahaha!"
Li Shujin couldn't help but laugh out loud. The "large rabbits" on her chest bounced rhythmically, looking quite impressive in scale. After she finished laughing, she asked, "Can I go inside and see it later?"
"Sure. Some of the fruit you gave me yesterday, I actually gave it to the panda to eat."
"I'm so excited! Get ready!"
Li Shujin stepped on the gas. Chen Muye felt a strong force pushing him back into his seat as one car after another was left behind. His heart was in his throat; his toes were tightly curled inside his shoes, though he kept a calm expression on his face. *This girl’s driving skill is actually pretty good,* he thought. *Luckily, I have lung cancer and not a heart condition, or I might have croaked tonight.*
The journey that should have taken forty minutes took Li Shujin only twenty. She parked the Porsche 911 beside Chen Muye’s home. The old residential area was deserted at night; otherwise, she would have certainly attracted quite a bit of attention.
Chen Muye stepped out, sighing in relief: *Finally here. I’m never riding in this girl’s car again!*
They got out, and Li Shujin said excitedly, "Where's the panda? Where is it?"
Chen Muye looked at the house with the lights on. "It should still be inside."
He pushed the door open, and sure enough, they saw a female zookeeper holding a milk bottle, trying to feed Tiedan. Tiedan was looking at the zookeeper with an expression of utter disdain. When it saw Chen Muye return, Tiedan's eyes lit up. It trotted over, wagging its tail and letting out soft, whimpering, cooing sounds as if it were acting spoiled.
Seeing this scene, Li Shujin, standing beside Chen Muye, was completely charmed. "Aww, this panda is just too cute."
Not far away, the "broad-minded" zookeeper was stunned. She had cared for many pandas and was familiar with their habits, but this particular one had stumped her completely today. It wouldn't eat what she offered, nor would it play with her. She had even thought the panda was sick. But now, seeing it treat Chen Muye like a dog welcoming its owner home, it defied her entire understanding.
She walked up to Chen Muye. "You must be Mr. Chen Muye."
Chen Muye reached out politely. "Yes, that's me. Hello, how should I address you?"
The zookeeper took off her gloves to shake his hand. "Hello, my name is Jiang Yourong. You can call me Sister Rong."
"Alright, Sister Rong."
Chen Muye took a quick look at Jiang Yourong. Her appearance wasn't as high-profile as Li Shujin’s, but she had a "grows on you" kind of beauty. Her loose work uniform was stretched quite taut, which certainly lived up to her name.
Jiang Yourong exclaimed, "Before I came, I heard my colleagues say that this panda seems to have a special bond with you."
Chen Muye chuckled. "Well, Sister Rong, you don't know—yesterday, my house was almost demolished by it."
Jiang Yourong laughed knowingly. "Haha, I saw the video my colleagues posted. It was indeed quite a mess. But I’m curious, why is it so well-behaved now?"
Chen Muye glanced at Tiedan. "Maybe it feels guilty toward me."
Nearby, Li Shujin had her eyes fixed entirely on Tiedan. Seeing that Chen Muye and Jiang Yourong had finished talking, she asked, "Sister Rong, can I pet it?"
Jiang Yourong hesitated. "Try giving it something to eat first. If it doesn't resist, then you can pet it. Otherwise, I’m afraid it might hurt you."
"Okay, but I don't have anything."
Jiang Yourong turned back and grabbed a milk bottle for Li Shujin. "It's still young; just feed it this."
"Got it."
Li Shujin took the bottle and crouched down, wanting to feed the panda. But the little panda ignored her, staying firmly under Chen Muye’s pant leg, rubbing against him. Li Shujin looked at Chen Muye for help.
Chen Muye crouched down and patted Tiedan. *Tiedan,* he thought, *this is your future mom, so behave yourself.*
Tiedan didn't react. Chen Muye had no choice but to add 0.1 to its level.
*Ding!*
【Name: Tiedan】
【Host: Chen Muye】
【Type: Iron-Eating Beast】
【Lifespan: 10,949 days】
【Level: Lv 0.2】
【Skill: None】
After the upgrade, Tiedan’s eyes gleamed as it circled Chen Muye excitedly. Chen Muye patted its head and muttered, "Hurry up and make your future mom happy."
Tiedan was quick-witted; it walked over to Li Shujin’s side and began rubbing against her pant leg.
"Aww, so cute!"
Li Shujin set the bottle aside and petted Tiedan with doting hands. Watching this, Jiang Yourong became even more puzzled. What was going on with this panda? It was affectionate toward everyone except the staff from the Forestry Bureau. It was truly bizarre.
