Chapter 2

After completing the novice mission, Lin Li—a man whose unique way of doing things and unconventional thought process were well-known—was now thoroughly convinced by the system’s god-tier abilities. He found himself filled with wild, groundless anticipation for the chaotic and fantastical developments that lay ahead.
"Ding! Main quest issued: Help Lin Zhentian, the richest man in Jiangcheng, resolve his company’s crisis. Deadline: one month. Quest rewards: 1,000 System Points, one intermediate skill exchange voucher, and 500 prestige points."
Upon hearing the details of this mission, Lin Li’s eyes went as wide as saucers. He couldn't help but grumble to himself, "Lin Zhentian, the richest man in Jiangcheng? That old guy is so powerful that if he stamped his foot, the ground in Jiangcheng would split. What kind of crisis could his company possibly have? And how am I supposed to help? Are you expecting me to go cast a 'resurrection spell' on his company?"
Lin Li didn't hesitate; he swiftly dove into the internet to dig up information on Lin Zhentian’s company. Well, you wouldn’t believe it—the more he dug, the more shocked he became. It turned out that the company had recently fallen victim to a competitor’s dirty tricks and malicious suppression. This had left their capital chain as severed as a broken kite, and several projects were withering away like frostbitten eggplants, all completely stalled.
Lin Li understood that with his current level of skill, trying to solve this problem was no different from trying to climb to heaven with his bare hands. But this was Lin Li, a man with a mind full of wild ideas. His eyes darted as a plan formed. He decided to first use Speed Reading to grind through knowledge on finance and business management. Thanks to Speed Reading, his reading speed was like watching a video on double-time. Within a few days, he had swept through dozens of relevant books, and he suddenly felt a mysterious sense of confidence, as if he could see through all the workings of the business world.
Next, Lin Li began to ponder how to get in touch with Lin Zhentian. But who was Lin Zhentian? He was surrounded by security guards and secretaries like a swarm of flies; he wasn't someone Lin Li could easily approach. Lin Li scratched his head, then suddenly slapped his thigh. Aha! He drafted a detailed solution, dressed up as a delivery courier, and humming a little tune, strolled swaggeringly toward Lin Zhentian’s company. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought he was there to collect a million-dollar prize.
When Lin Li finally wobbled his way downstairs to the company, he was abruptly stopped by a security guard. The guard waved his hand impatiently, as if shooing a fly, and barked, "Get lost! This isn't a place for you to be acting up. Scram!"
Lin Li couldn't have that. He hurriedly shouted at the top of his lungs, "Hey, hey, brother! I have something super-duper important to deliver to Chairman Lin. This thing concerns the life and death of your company—it’s more important than your year-end bonus!" But the guard wasn't buying it for a second and reached out to shove him away.
Just at this critical moment, an eye-catching luxury car pulled up slowly. The door opened, and out stepped Lin Zhentian. Seeing his chance, Lin Li surged forward as if injected with adrenaline, shouting at the top of his raspy voice, "Chairman Lin! I have a way to save your company’s life!"
Lin Zhentian frowned, his brow twisting like a pretzel, as he looked at this young man rushing over like a rabid dog. His bodyguards reacted faster than a rocket launch, stepping forward in an instant to intercept Lin Li.
"Chairman, I don't know where this brat crawled out from, but he’s claiming he has a way to solve the company’s crisis. He’s clearly a con artist—don't pay him any mind!" the security guard added, fueling the fire.
Lin Zhentian, however, didn't have him kicked out immediately. He narrowed his eyes and inspected Lin Li as if he were a rare animal, catching a flash of inexplicable determination and mysterious confidence in the young man’s gaze. "Kid, tell me, what kind of brilliant plan could you possibly have? If you can't come up with a decent answer, I won't let you off easy," Lin Zhentian threatened arrogantly.
Lin Li took a deep breath, intentionally building suspense, and began to explain his plan in a leisurely manner. He spoke with great fervor, mentioning restructuring assets, bringing in strategic investors, and adjusting the company’s business layout to cut unnecessary expenses. As Lin Zhentian listened, he was secretly shocked. He hadn't expected that while this seemingly flighty young man’s proposal had a touch of immaturity, it actually hit the company’s pain points exactly.
"What’s your name? Where did you cook up these crazy ideas? Don't try to play games with me!" Lin Zhentian asked suspiciously.
Lin Li grinned and answered truthfully, "Chairman Lin, my name is Lin Li. I’ve been obsessively studying business management lately, and after looking at your company’s situation, I just came up with these ideas on the fly."
Lin Zhentian pondered for a moment, a subtle, mischievous smirk appearing on his face. He decided to give Lin Li a chance.
