While locked in a life-or-death struggle with the bastards from Dark Star, Lin Li happened to hear a mystical rumor from somewhere. It was said that deep in the secluded mountain forests on the outskirts of Jiangcheng lay a Mysterious Ruins, rumored to be so packed with treasures that they would blind you, along with all sorts of incredible Cultivation Manuals. Whoever managed to get their hands on them would surely be unstoppable!
Upon hearing this, Lin Li's eyes lit up like a pair of lightbulbs. He thought to himself, "Heh, if I manage to find this, I won't have to worry about handling those lowlifes from Dark Star anymore, will I?" With a wave of his hand, he decided to take a few of the most reliable elites from the Starry Alliance and set off posthaste to explore these Mysterious Ruins.
When they reached the deep mountains, good heavens! The place was as mysterious as if it were draped in a black shroud. The surrounding trees were tall and ancient, appearing almost sentient, as if every trunk were harboring a belly full of secrets. Lin Li and his team followed a winding, narrow path deep into the woods, proceeding with the utmost caution. Their eyes were wide as copper bells, terrified that something might suddenly pop out at them.
Just as they were walking, out of nowhere, a pack of beasts lunged forward—they looked like wolves and tigers escaped from hell. Each of these beasts was as massive as a small hill, their eyes flashing with a murderous light, like a pair of shimmering lightning blades ready to slice people open. Lin Li and his team immediately entered combat mode, fueled by an adrenaline rush. Once the fighting started, Lin Li realized something was wrong; it was as if these beasts had been enchanted by some wicked soul. Their attacks were chaotic, yet they surged like a violent storm, wave after wave, ferocious and relentless.
After a chaotic, earth-shattering struggle, Lin Li and his team finally managed to beat back the beasts. They were exhausted, panting heavily like dying dogs, but they didn't dare to rest and continued to trudge forward. Sure enough, in a well-hidden valley, they found the entrance to the ruins. It was engraved with bizarre runes and radiated an eerie glow, as if it were whispering, "Heh, kids, come in if you’ve got the guts!"
Lin Li knew that this was only the beginning, and there was no telling what other tricks were waiting for them inside. But he was someone who feared nothing. With a wave of his hand, he led his team inside, moving with extreme caution. It was pitch black, filled with a stale, ancient odor that made them frown in disgust. The walls occasionally flickered with strange lights, as if they were telling age-old but impossibly mysterious stories.
They continued to grope their way along the passageway when, suddenly, the ground began to shake violently, and spikes erupted from the earth like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. Lin Li, quick-witted and sharp-tongued, shouted at the top of his lungs, "Everyone, watch out!" The group reacted instantly, pulling out all the stops and dancing like acrobats to dodge the spikes. In the ensuing panic, however, one team member wasn't careful enough and was grazed by a spike.
Lin Li felt a pang of concern. *This can't go on,* he thought. He immediately activated his miraculous Eye of Insight, scanning the surrounding environment like a scanner. Sure enough, he discovered several well-hidden trap buttons on the walls. Without a moment's hesitation, he dashed over like an agile monkey and pressed the buttons in rapid succession. The spikes in the ground finally ceased.
As they ventured further into the ruins, they arrived at a massive hall. In the center of the hall sat a stone coffin, its surrounding energy fluctuations so intense it felt as if it might explode at any moment. The moment the group approached the coffin, it creaked open, and a figure radiating an eerie, spectral light drifted out like a Ghost.
"Hmph, outsiders, you've got some nerve, daring to barge in here," the spectral figure said, its voice cold, as if it had drifted from an ice cellar.
Lin Li was not afraid. He stepped forward and said arrogantly, "We’re just here to find some power so we can deal with those rotten scoundrels. What’s it to you? Stop us if you've got the guts!"
The spectral figure remained silent for a moment before saying slowly, "Hmph. If you can pass my trial, this legacy shall be yours."
Having said that, the spectral figure waved a hand, casting a spell. Instantly, phantom clones appeared throughout the hall, lunging toward Lin Li and his team like a pack of starving wolves.
