Such a careless oversight was the very reason for her defeat! The tables had been completely turned on her by her opponent.
However, Yi Yan's gesture was not out of mercy; rather, she truly did not dare to deal a merciless blow. After all, how could the number one public enemy of the magic world be eliminated by Yi Yan alone?
Initially, Yi Yan's plan had merely been to restrict Yi Yu's movements, threaten him to keep him from acting rashly, and then seize the opportunity to escape and leave this Dark Forest.
She would search for the Light Mage Faction and slowly deal with the male and female protagonists one by one. But it seemed all of this would have to be postponed for a while.
For now, it was better to simply comply with this dangerous fellow, Yi Yu!
After turning these thoughts over in her mind, Yi Yan smiled and said, "I'm not planning to run away anymore! Besides, as long as you're here, anything I do is just a futile effort. Right?"
"I really like it when you're obedient!" Yi Yu looked at the young girl in his arms who was pretending to be sensible, his voice softening slightly as he spoke.
"Then I'm hungry! Will you provide me with a delicious meal? I haven't had a single bite of food or drop of water in my stomach for days." Yi Yan began to act pitiful.
Hearing the young girl's words, Yi Yu frowned slightly.
With a snap of his fingers, a lavish feast appeared in Yi Yan's room.
Yi Yu gently placed Yi Yan onto a chair and said, "What do you want to eat? Serve yourself!"
"Then release the magic on me first! My arms have no strength and I can't move!" Yi Yan complained bitterly.
"The magic was actually already lifted the moment you said those words and decided not to run away—cough, cough! It's just that you... probably overexerted yourself earlier using Dark Magic... cough, cough, cough... and now the backlash has hit you," Yi Yu said between coughs.
It seemed that not only was Yi Yan's condition poor, but Yi Yu himself, standing not far away, was not having a very easy time either. His injuries had indeed worsened.
Given the heavy blow previously dealt to Yi Yu by the male protagonist Mo Ge and the others, things shouldn't have looked this grim.
It seemed this fellow Yi Yu had also been struck by a curse from the Lis Family... Otherwise, given his capabilities, it was impossible that he wouldn't have fully recovered after such a long time.
No wonder Yi Yu had seen fit to send the male protagonist Mo Ge that parting gift of a toxic curse at the very end of his life.
So it turned out that the people from the Light Mage Faction had provoked him first.
Actually, this was a magical world, right? So why did light and darkness have to fight? Did light necessarily represent justice? Did darkness necessarily represent evil?
While one couldn't deny that both sides were at fault, the mastermind behind the scenes was definitely hidden somewhere between these two factions.
That mastermind was probably the chief culprit who had stirred up this war.
[Host, analyzed like that, I actually want to tell you something. The Lis Family is no ordinary household... There is definitely someone behind the female protagonist Lis. I suggest Host get away as quickly as possible and go to the Light Mage Faction to investigate. Once we look around, we'll know some of the truth.]
Was this a hidden clue? If she hadn't thought about it this way, would it not have been triggered?
[Yes, Host. The Ni Tian System doesn't lack missions; everything is simply issued at random.]
"What are you thinking about? You're distracted again," Yi Yu said, coughing.
"Is that so? I'm just worrying... because I can't do anything myself and delicious food is right in front of me yet I can't eat it."
"Then I'll feed you!" As soon as those words left Yi Yu's mouth, Yi Yan felt that she really shouldn't have spoken just now. How old was she? Her real age was almost twenty! Even if this body was only sixteen years old, she certainly wasn't a three-year-old toddler. Who needed someone else to feed them? Besides, letting the supreme villain of this world feed her personally was a blessing... that was too much to bear.
"No..." Before Yi Yan could finish saying she didn't need it, that dangerous fellow had already brought the soup to her lips.
What else could Yi Yan do? If she didn't drink it, was she supposed to provoke him? That didn't seem like a very wise move.
[Host, someone is being nice to you, so just drink it!]
The last bit of Yi Yan's internal... struggle... vanished.
Yi Yan moved her lips and took a small sip of the soup. Fortunately, it wasn't hot and didn't burn her tongue.
Seeing that the young girl in front of him wasn't resisting his feeding, Yi Yu moved several other dishes over in front of Yi Yan.
By "moved," he meant he was using magic to maneuver the plates.
Having magic made things so effortless.
"I don't want to eat any of these. They're too sweet, too oily, too greasy, too sour, too salty. Just bring me a bowl of plain porridge and two pieces of bread, and that will be enough!" Yi Yan indicated with her eyes that the dishes did not suit her palate.
With that, every time Yi Yu snapped his fingers or flicked his sleeve, the dining table and the feast vanished almost instantly, leaving only the plain porridge and bread Yi Yan had mentioned floating in mid-air.
And there were two bowls' worth of plain porridge and bread, too...
Yi Yu picked up a bowl of porridge and prepared to continue feeding Yi Yan, but she reached out and took it from him, signaling that she was fully capable of moving now and didn't need him to feed her anymore.
A strange glint flashed through Yi Yu's silver eyes, though it quickly vanished.
Using magic, Yi Yan conjured up a small round table.
Taking the cue, Yi Yu steadily lowered the items floating in mid-air onto the small round table.
When Yi Yan had eaten almost enough, she looked up at Yi Yu and found that this dangerous fellow was staring at her again.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Yi Yan asked, knowing the answer as she looked at the remaining portion of food on the small round table.
"Alright then," Yi Yu replied, changing his attire on the spot.
This new outfit seemed to be of the exact same style as Yi Yan's.
He had cast aside his black cloak and face veil, revealing the youth's true appearance. His silver hair cascaded like a waterfall, and a pair of heterochromatic silver eyes invited wild imaginations. His skin was as fair as any girl's, and while his temperament was exceptionally reserved and gentle, it gave off a deceptive vibe of "strangers keep away."
Yi Yu's appearance genuinely gave Yi Yan a stunning shock.
This major villain was actually quite good-looking.
"Well? Do I look good? Am I a match for you?"
Those words from Yi Yu made Yi Yan cough a few times!
It reminded her of a saying: whoever looks good has the capital to be narcissistic!
[Host, are your heartstrings pulled? If you're falling for him, I'll issue a romance strategy guide for you...]
No need! This is a cannon fodder counterattack! A cannon fodder defying the heavens to counterattack. This isn't a dating sim game...
Seeing that Yi Yan had fallen somewhat silent, Yi Yu didn't continue pressing the matter.
After all, how long had they even known each other? How much mutual affection could they possibly share?
Yi Yu picked up a piece of bread from the small round table and prepared to eat it. But he had only taken a single bite and swallowed it when he began to cough even more violently, his entire body trembling slightly.
He even lost his grip on the bread in his hand, and it rolled down onto the floor.
