The surrounding trees were tall and gloomy, their lush branches intertwining like heavy curtains that blocked out the sky entirely. Sunlight struggled to filter through the tiny gaps, casting scattered spots of light that made the jungle appear even gloomier and more eerie. Their footsteps sounded exceptionally clear in the silent woods, each step taken with cautious probing as if they were afraid of disturbing this slumbering danger. "Zhang Yue, I always feel like this place gives off an eerie vibe." Ziyan closely followed behind Zhang Yue, a trace of undisguised unease in her voice. Her gaze darted constantly around her, her hands gripping her Staff tightly, her knuckles turning somewhat pale from the force. Holding a long sword, Zhang Yue scanned his surroundings with eyes as sharp as a falcon's. His clothes had already been torn in multiple places from pushing through thorns, and there were fine scratches across his exposed skin. "Be careful, Ziyan. I have a feeling we are getting close to the lair of that mysterious person; danger could be lurking everywhere." His voice was low and steady, attempting to offer Ziyan a measure of comfort.
