In the mysterious city of Nineveh, within the ancient Babylonian Empire, King Nebuchadnezzar II, his queen Amytis, and numerous ministers were holding a grand event in the Hanging Gardens. The Hanging Gardens were built with a three-dimensional architectural approach, placing the gardens upon four tiered platforms constructed of asphalt and bricks. These platforms were supported by twenty-five-meter-high pillars and equipped with an irrigation system operated by slaves who continuously turned handles connected to gears. The gardens were planted with all kinds of flowers, grass, and trees, which, when viewed from a distance, appeared to be suspended in mid-air—hence the name, the Hanging Gardens.
