Chapter 7

Over the next few days, Qin Qing camped out in the livestream room every single day. Whenever Xu Yiran encountered a task he couldn't clear, she would step in and help him pass it, so many people soon came to realize that H. Yiran now practically had a devoted benefactor.
After all, anyone could see that Qing Ruxu's account only had eyes for Xu Yiran; if you clicked into her profile, you would find she only followed Xu Yiran and no one else.
Therefore, even though the account didn't bear any suffix, everyone tacitly assumed one thing: Qing Ruxu was the older sister backing Xu Yiran.
Yet, both the fans in the chat room and Starlight found one thing rather peculiar—this "guardian" sister spoke remarkably little.
Half a month passed, and the tasks required of Xu Yiran grew increasingly demanding, while his follower count successfully surpassed ten thousand.
Xu Yiran never expected that livestreaming, which he had originally started just to supplement the household income, could actually earn this much money—even more than the breakfast shop his father ran.
When Wang Meihan heard that her son's career was making progress, she happily went out to buy groceries, announcing that they needed to celebrate.
Seeing her in such high spirits, Xu Yiran didn't say anything to dampen her mood, silently changing his clothes to go with her.
Naturally, the streamer who needed to celebrate had no choice but to take time off to accompany his mother in the festivities.
On the other side, Qin Qing stared blankly at the ceiling, filled with a deep sense of boredom. *How boring.*
Ai Bo wasn't streaming, her familiar streamers weren't streaming, and scrolling through short videos yielded nothing entertaining.
Yet she didn't feel like painting either. With a flick of her phone, she launched herself off the couch, stood straight up, and declared in a ringing tone: "Since that's how it is, let me go out for a stroll!"
Her resounding voice startled the housekeeper who was tidying up.
"Miss, what's wrong?"
Qin Qing smiled sheepishly and said in a soft voice, "It's nothing, Auntie. I'm just a little bored staying at home." *(Cross that out: I've gone crazy.)*
The housekeeper nodded, half in doubt. As for their employers' affairs, they knew better than to ask too many questions.
Qin Qing tapped at her phone, intending to find someone to go shopping with.
After looking around twice, she found that her potential companions were either in class or at work; she was the only one with nothing to do.
Sighing in defeat, she ultimately reached out to Fang Zhirou and asked her to come along for a shopping trip.
"Hold on, sis, what's wrong with you? At such a tense moment, you're actually asking me out to play?"
Qin Qing sat in a bubble tea shop wearing a slender blue dress. "What's wrong with that? Is anxiously waiting at home going to change the outcome?"
Fang Zhirou had already submitted her artwork, but it would take some time for it to be reviewed. Therefore, during this period, all they could do was quietly wait.
Fang Zhirou took a deep sip of her bubble tea. "Fine. As it happens, I want to unwind a bit too. So, where are we going?"
Qin Qing replied, "I don't know. I just didn't want to stay at home, so I dragged you out. Anywhere is fine. Is there anything you want to do?"
As long as she could get out, anywhere would do.
Fang Zhirou had no objections either. She searched for nearby events on her phone and spotted an anime convention.
"Hey, there's an anime convention nearby. Want to check it out?"
Qin Qing nodded and followed her out the door.
Walking to the convention, it took them nearly half an hour just to find the entrance.
Fang Zhirou muttered, "Good grief, this convention is so popular, yet the location is so out of the way."
Still, upon reflection, it made sense—a more central spot likely wouldn't have had enough space to host an anime convention anyway.
Qin Qing smiled and said, "It's fine, let's just go inside and take a look. Who knows, we might run into some surprises."
The two of them walked in hand in hand and immediately heard the squeals of young girls.
"Oh, looks like there really is some excitement to see."
"It looks like they invited a cosplayer, and judging by the looks of it, they're quite well-known."
Qin Qing stood on tiptoe to look at the commotion over there. A crowd of young girls was surrounding someone, chattering excitedly about something.
"You spend more time on the internet, do you know him?" Qin Qing asked softly, leaning close to Fang Zhirou's ear.
"Never heard of him. I don't run in these circles; I just chose to come here purely because they're holding an event," Fang Zhirou blinked innocently.
Qin Qing looked at her and sighed. *Forget it, there's no point in expecting anything from her.*
The two of them browsed the entire convention, and by the time they left, their hands were full of purchases.
As Qin Qing was holding a body pillow and preparing to leave, her path was suddenly blocked by a young woman.
"Excuse me, is there something you need?"
She looked with guarded vigilance at the young woman and the tall man behind her carrying a video camera.
Noticing her expression, the young woman immediately understood her misgivings.
With a somewhat apologetic tone, she said, "Sorry! I just saw that you two bought quite a few things and wanted to interview you about which cosplayer you like best. Would that be alright?"
Fang Zhirou frowned as she looked at the camera behind the woman. "Excuse me, let me ask if my friend minds."
She then turned her head and whispered to Qin Qing, "Qingqing, it looks like they're livestreaming. Are you okay with being on camera? If you don't like it, we can decline."
Qin Qing smiled and shook her head. "I won't get on camera, but I think you can."
Fang Zhirou looked puzzled.
"Don't forget, you'll get voting bonuses for the painting competition later. But of course, it still depends on what you want."
Realization dawned on Fang Zhirou. She frowned in thought for a moment and finally decided to accept.
Having some notoriety would help her when she held art exhibitions in the future, which was quite beneficial for her.
With that thought in mind, she smiled and said to them, "Sure. But my friend isn't used to being on camera—could you please mind the angles and make sure she isn't caught in the shot?"
The young woman nodded repeatedly. "Of course! But could we film your backs after the interview? You two are just too gorgeous~ It's been a long time since I've seen such pretty girls, let my stream's fans feast their eyes!"
By the end of her sentence, the young woman's eyes were practically glowing.
She wasn't exaggerating at all. Fang Zhirou belonged to the cold, regal beauty type, with well-defined facial features and cool, crisp brows that had her livestream viewers howling in delight.
Qin Qing leaned more toward the sweet type. Standing at 165 centimeters tall, her large, limpid eyes seemed capable of speech.
Whenever anyone was gazed upon by those clear eyes, they would willingly lavish everything they had upon her.
People often said that her outward personality contrasted sharply with her appearance.
It was just a pity she was unwilling to appear on camera; otherwise, the popularity of today's livestream would multiply several times over.
Still, getting to see her in real life was already fantastic—it was an absolute feast for the eyes, a visual banquet!
Her pitiful little expression amused them both.
"Alright, just make sure you're careful not to catch us in the frame," Qin Qing said with a gentle smile.
The young woman made an "OK" gesture next to the cameraman.
The two of them carried their belongings as they walked out the door, taking care not to let their faces be captured by the camera behind them.
Preoccupied with the camera in their rear, they marched forward completely unaware, the body pillows obstructing most of their field of view.
By the time they realized they were only a few paces away from the pedestrians ahead, it was already too late.
Qin Qing stumbled, her belongings scattering across the ground, and as she turned sideways, she naturally failed to notice that her profile had already been exposed to the livestream camera.
