After leaving the guerrilla force, Luo Jiang continued deep into the mountains. Before long, he spotted wild rabbits and pheasants, as well as a family of over ten wild boars. He caught the pheasants and rabbits, killed one two-hundred-pound boar, and began skinning and cleaning it by the river. The scent of blood soon attracted predators. First, a leopard followed the scent, followed by a pack of over twenty wolves. Ignoring them, Luo Jiang stowed the cleaned pork and tossed the offal to the leopard, but the wolf pack lunged at him. He picked out the five largest, meatier wolves and struck them dead. The rest of the pack, intimidated by his prowess, turned and fled.
