None-other than the Grand Princess!
Jiang Tang, the undisputed queen of the younger generation among the Capital's elite families.
She was head-over-heels in love with Wang Han, but Wang Han had always treated her strictly like one of the boys. They had known each other since childhood, and back then, the Grand Princess was the quintessential tomboy. Even though she had blossomed into a deeply feminine woman as an adult, Wang Han could never bring himself to see her that way—they were simply too familiar with each other. Even if the Grand Princess stood stark naked before him, Wang Han wouldn't be able to make a move.
This woman would stop at nothing to get Wang Han to sleep with her.
And she possessed an intensely controlling nature.
"Bastard, I'm coming to Jiangning City to see you tomorrow."
"Don't you dare!" Wang Han immediately cut her off.
"Uh-huh, bastard, it hasn't even been that long, and your mouth's gotten awfully tough. Looks like I'll have to soften you up a bit. Wash up clean and wait for me tomorrow—I'm going to give you the full Lu Zhishen uprooting the weeping willow treatment."
Dropping vulgar innuendo right out of the gate was her trademark.
Wang Han paced around in an irritated frenzy. "I'm married! If you come here, my wife is going to be very unhappy."
The Grand Princess froze. "Really?"
"Really."
The sound of rapid-fire keyboard clacking came through the other end of the line. "Su Qi, is it?"
"What the fuck! Did you seriously run a background check on me?"
"How dare some bitch try to steal my man! I'm going to go have a little chat with her tomorrow."
Chapter 30: An Old Friend
Wang Han quickly chimed in, "Don't do anything reckless. My wife is a delicate, sheltered girl; she won't be able to handle your brand of crazy."
The Grand Princess let out a cold, haughty scoff. "If she dares to steal my man, she'd better be ready to face the consequences!"
With that, she hung up the phone.
Wang Han called her back immediately. Jiang Tang let out a yawn. "I'm sleepy, going to bed now, babe. Wash up till you smell nice and sweet and wait for me. I've been learning how to swing my hips and shake my ass from an international supermodel for the past few days, I guarantee you'll be standing at attention the second you see me!"
"You mother—"
"Hanging up, sleep tight, love you, night-night."
Beep, beep, beep...
Wang Han clutched his phone, debating whether or not to send Su Qi a text to give her a heads-up.
But it was already getting late. He decided he would just tell her tomorrow.
He woke up early in the morning to practice his forms and made breakfast for Guoguo.
Wang Han was remarkably dexterous; the braids he put in Guoguo's hair were every bit as neat as those done by professional stylists—arguably even prettier.
When he dropped Guoguo off at kindergarten, the parents of the other kids looked at him with very strange expressions. One of them even tried to strike up a conversation, but Wang Han merely offered a polite, business-like response.
While waiting for his next delivery order, he sent Su Qi a text: "If a woman with a ponytail comes looking for you today, just ignore her."
Su Qi replied almost instantly: "Hiring more actors to play pretend?"
Wang Han knew any explanation would be pointless.
"Just pretend she's an actress, then."
Su Qi didn't reply again after that.
Wang Han lit a cigarette. Today's orders were significantly more numerous than usual, and he was soon busy enough to push the entire incident to the back of his mind.
A little past one in the afternoon.
Wang Han grabbed a quick bite to eat, and his phone chimed with a notification for a new delivery.
He picked up a massive haul of pizza and fried chicken.
Glancing at the delivery address without a second thought, he headed over.
Eventually, he arrived in front of an old villa.
He knocked on the door.
The door swung open.
Habitually, Wang Han began, "Hello, your food delivery, hope you en—"
Before he could finish, Wang Han froze.
Because the person who opened the door was Su Qi.
When Su Qi saw Wang Han, she was equally dumbfounded.
"Why are you here?"
Wang Han's gaze swept past Su Qi to see several people inside the room, looking very much like they were having a gathering.
"What a coincidence." Wang Han smiled and handed over the food.
Today, Su Qi was as stunning and mesmerizing as ever. Her swan-like neck was smooth and fair, and her lace blouse strained tightly against the voluptuous mounds of her chest. A form-fitting pencil skirt hugged her long legs, encased in alluring black stockings. The only thing missing was the glacial, keep-them-all-at-bay aloofness on her pretty face.
There were too many items; Su Qi couldn't carry them all by herself. Another woman walked over from inside to take some of the bags, having overheard the exchange between Su Qi and Wang Han.
"Su Qi, you know this delivery guy?"
"Huh?" Su Qi looked at Wang Han, momentarily at a loss for how to introduce him to her classmate, given that the man standing before her was, after all, her lawful husband.
Reading Su Qi's mind, Wang Han smiled and explained, "We were junior high classmates."
As soon as he said that, Su Qi's classmate wore a bizarre expression. "Su Qi and I were junior high classmates too. Are you really our classmate?"
Wang Han played along, tapping his temple with his finger. "Oh! It's you, old classmate! You're that... you're that..."
"My name is Huo Sitong!"
"Right, right, right! Huo Sitong! I remember you! All these years have flown by. They say a girl changes eighteen times over, each time prettier than the last—you were pretty back then, and you're even prettier now." Playing the part of an instantly familiar friend, Wang Han handed over the food.
Flattery will get you everywhere.
Huo Sitong looked Wang Han up and down with a hint of awkwardness. "I'm sorry, but I still have no recollection of you."
Wang Han spun a convincing yarn. "Backbenchers like us are practically invisible to begin with. I wasn't very tall back then, I sat in the back row, and the teacher was always beating me up. Every few days I'd get called up to recite text passages, and when I couldn't, I'd get sent to stand in the corner as punishment. My hometown is out in the countryside, and I was a transfer student—there's no way you'd remember."
Though Huo Sitong couldn't quite place who he was, she vaguely recalled that there really had been a boy like that in their class. "It's ringing a bell. Your name is..."
"My name is Zhang Wei," Wang Han lied smoothly.
"Oh! Zhang Wei!" Huo Sitong said with a sudden look of realization.
Su Qi wore a look that screamed: *I don't understand this at all, but I am deeply traumatized.*
Wang Han handed over the rest of the items.
"Sitong, who is it?" A man with a center-part hairstyle walked out from the living room.
"Yuan Bor, this is our old classmate Zhang Wei. Do you remember him?"
Yuan Bor looked Wang Han up and down. "Zhang Wei? We didn't have anyone named Zhang Wei in our class."
Huo Sitong blinked in surprise, and Yuan Bor continued with a sneer, "Besides, everyone in our class turned out all right. None of us have fallen so low as to deliver takeout."
"Doesn't Su Qi know him, though?" Huo Sitong asked, somewhat confused.
Yuan Bor turned his gaze to Su Qi. The eyes behind his glasses swept over her with a salacious leer that was thoroughly revolting.
"Su Qi, you know this delivery guy?"
"Huh? He... he's my o—"
She wanted to say "husband," but the word refused to pass her lips. She thought about calling him "my child's father," which somehow felt even more impossible to say out of the blue.
After choking back her words for a long moment, Su Qi forced out, "An old friend."
Wang Han offered Su Qi a slight smile. Unable to meet his gaze, Su Qi looked away.
A flash of guilt crossed her features.
Yuan Bor leaned against the doorframe. "Su Qi, why would you even know a delivery boy like this? You're a high-powered CEO now; you need to maintain clear boundaries in your social circle and stop associating with just anyone."
Huo Sitong chimed in defensively, "Yuan Bor, that's a bit harsh. What does making friends have to do with social status?"
"It has everything to do with it. The gap between the bottom rungs of society and the social elite is vast. I'm sure you understand the old saying: 'He who stays near vermin is tainted with red, he who stays near ink is stained black.' A person like this only reaches out to Su Qi because he wants to suck up to her. I know the psychology of these little nobodies all too well."
For the first time, Su Qi furrowed her brow. "Yuan Bor, you're being far too narrow-minded."
Yuan Bor flashed a sycophantic grin. "Fine, fine, whatever the goddess says is right."
Then, turning back to Wang Han, he sneered, "The delivery's here, so why are you still hanging around? Oh, right, almost forgot."
Yuan Bor pulled out his wallet, drew out a five-hundred-yuan bill, and shoved it at Wang Han. "Here's your tip. Take the money and get lost. Don't go pestering our Goddess Su Qi ever again."
"Yuan Bor, what are you doing?" Su Qi demanded angrily, feeling that this was genuinely degrading to others.
"Ah, I've been abroad too long, I forgot China doesn't really have a tipping culture. It's fine, just consider it charity. Delivery guys like this have it pretty rough, running around in wind and rain every day without making much. Five hundred yuan should keep him happy for a long time. Hey, delivery boy, aren't you forgetting your manners?"
Wang Han held the money. Back in the day, he would have definitely backhanded the guy across the room. But now, after all his recent mental tempering, he actually rather enjoyed dealing with arrogant, money-flashing morons like this. "Thank you, Boss."
Seeing Wang Han accept it so easily, a trace of disappointment flashed in Su Qi's eyes.
"See? What did I tell you? The gap between people is so wide that what trickles through the cracks of our fingers is enough to fill their bellies to bursting. That's the class divide for you. Well, what are you still standing there for? Five hundred is more than enough, don't be greedy. Scram, get out of here!" Yuan Bor mocked with a sneer.
A delighted voice rang out from inside. "The pizza's here?"
"Goddess Wanying, come get it!" Yuan Bor beamed like a lapdog toward the interior.
Xia Wanying trotted out from the back.
She picked up the pizza boxes and looked out. When she saw Wang Han standing there, Xia Wanying's face bloomed into a radiant smile, and she smoothly delivered the lines she had secretly practiced several times over:
"Wow! Brother Wang, what a coincidence."
Chapter 31: The Pad Slipped Out
Wang Han never expected to run into Xia Wanying here of all places.
Little did he know, this entire encounter was meticulously orchestrated by Xia Wanying herself.
Su Qi froze, looking in astonishment between Wang Han and Xia Wanying, utterly unable to figure out how these two had crossed paths.
Yuan Bor felt a spike of jealousy; both of these stunning beauties seemed to know this delivery guy.
"Wanying, you know this delivery man?"
"Of course I do," Xia Wanying said openly.
Yuan Bor probed tentatively, "You guys are close?"
Xia Wanying nodded. "Brother Wang is my savior. If it weren't for Brother Wang, I wouldn't be alive today. Brother Wang, don't just stand outside in the doorway, come inside and rest for a bit." Xia Wanying stepped forward and grabbed Wang Han by the wrist.
This intimate little gesture caused Su Qi to knit her brows.
"No thanks," Wang Han declined politely.
Consumed by envy and jealousy, Yuan Bor piped up, "He still has deliveries to make! Peak hours are starting, they have to go out and earn a living, otherwise how would people like him afford to eat?"
Xia Wanying immediately snapped back, "Yuan Bor, why do your words sound so grating? What do you mean by 'people like him'? Everyone is equal here, there's no need to divide people into categories."
Yuan Bor quickly backpedaled. "Wanying, I just meant that his line of work is like that—there's only a small window of time where he can make money. If he doesn't hustle right now, his whole day is shot. Besides, the rest of us close old classmates are just getting together for a private gathering today, what would be the point of dragging an outsider in? It wouldn't be appropriate, right?"
Xia Wanying glanced at her watch. "I actually have to head to work anyway. Brother Wang, I didn't drive today—can you give me a ride?"
Wang Han nodded initially, then hesitated and looked toward Su Qi.
Su Qi intentionally averted her gaze to avoid meeting his eyes.
"Sure," Wang Han agreed.
Yuan Bor immediately jumped in, "Wanying, let me drive you! How dangerous is his little piece-of-junk electric scooter? I just bought a new car—a Porsche Cayenne, right over there, look."
A flashy Porsche was parked in the corner of the courtyard.
Yet Xia Wanying didn't even spare it a glance. "No need. Brother Wang knows where my school is. Su Qi, Sitong, you guys have fun, I have to get back to work. Let's get together another day."
Yuan Bor's expression twisted with jealousy.
He had a brand-new Porsche sitting right there, and Xia Wanying refused to ride in it.
Instead, she insisted on hopping onto Wang Han's beat-up electric scooter.
Wang Han straddled the scooter.
Xia Wanying hopped right on behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Standing at the doorway, Su Qi watched this scene unfold, her brow furrowing once more. She tried hard to keep her mind from wandering, but a voice in her head kept reminding her that Wang Han was her legally wedded husband.
Seeing that one of the beauties had already left, Yuan Bor shifted his tactics to Su Qi. "Goddess Su, let's go back inside."
To his surprise, Su Qi reached for her bag hanging by the door. "I have an urgent matter at my company, I need to head back."
Without giving Yuan Bor a single chance to reply, she walked out, got into her car, and drove away.
Yuan Bor stood there, gnashing his teeth in frustration.
Wang Han rode his beloved electric scooter down the road. The neighborhood had quite a few speed bumps, and every time they crossed one—
The passenger on the back, Xia Wanying, would bounce.
Xia Wanying's soft body pressed against his back, and with every jolt, Wang Han could clearly feel her plump curves rubbing and sliding against him.
The sensation was indescribably wonderful.
Today, Xia Wanying was dressed conservatively as usual, wearing a khaki dress and white sneakers. But Xia Wanying was richly endowed; where there was flesh, there was plenty of it, making this seemingly ordinary outfit look anything but ordinary on her. The milky-white cleavage between her collarbones heaved with subtle ripples every time they crossed a speed bump, and she carried the faint fragrance of perfume.
Her hips were wonderfully springy, too, and Wang Han could feel every bit of it.
Xia Wanying sat happily on the back of the scooter, her arms tightly around Wang Han's waist.
Wang Han looked slender, but after holding him, she realized he was remarkably solid and athletic.
Xia Wanying's imagination was already conjuring up images of Wang Han's eight-pack abs.
As they approached an intersection, a car suddenly cut out from a side road, forcing Wang Han to slam on the brakes.
Propelled by inertia, Xia Wanying's body lurched forward.
The push-back effect of those two soft, voluptuous mounds pressing flush against Wang Han's back was phenomenal.
A faint flush crept up Xia Wanying's cheeks. After all, the flesh was her own, and she could vividly feel the impact and compression of the collision.
She thought that would be the end of it, but who would have guessed the car ahead would stop and start repeatedly, causing Wang Han's scooter to jerk right along with it.
As a result, Xia Wanying kept rhythmically slamming her body against Wang Han's back.
It eventually reached a point where even Wang Han began to feel a little awkward.
"I'm not doing it on purpose, it looks like that car ahead is having some mechanical trouble," Wang Han explained.
Blushing, Xia Wanying said, "I know, Brother Wang, you're not that kind of person."
With a twist of the handlebars, Wang Han zipped around the stalled car.
A sudden honk blared beside his ear.
Wang Han turned his head and saw that Su Qi had actually driven up alongside them, leaning on her horn.
Her window rolled down. "Wanying, get in my car."
Xia Wanying immediately declined, "No thanks, I'll just ride with Brother Wang. It's not far, and Brother Wang knows the way."
Su Qi cast a cold glare at Wang Han. Feeling a bit guilty under her gaze, Wang Han pretended not to notice.
Curious, Xia Wanying asked, "Brother Wang, do you two know each other?"
Wang Han grunted an affirmative. "She and I are..."
He paused mid-sentence, glanced at Su Qi, and then—mimicking how Su Qi had introduced him earlier to the others—he introduced her: "She and I are old friends."
Su Qi's grip on the steering wheel involuntarily tightened, a nameless ache twisting in her chest.
Putting herself in his shoes for a moment, she finally understood how Wang Han must have felt back then.
"Oh," Xia Wanying murmured. "Su Qi, your company must be pretty busy, you should go take care of your work. Brother Wang and I will just head over on the scooter."
"You guys... ride safely," Su Qi said before slamming her foot on the gas and speeding away.
Still holding tightly to Wang Han's waist, Xia Wanying asked, "Brother Wang, do you have time this weekend?"
"When does a delivery guy ever have free time on the weekend?" Wang Han chuckled.
"Brother Wang, since you're so capable, why are you delivering food anyway?" Xia Wanying voiced the question that had been lingering in her mind.
With a cheeky grin, Wang Han replied, "Just experiencing life."
Xia Wanying paused for a moment. "If you don't have time on the weekend, who's going to look after Guoguo?"
"Shit!"
The thought suddenly hit Wang Han.
"Guess I won't deliver food then. I'll stay home with the kid over the weekend."
"I know a great spot that's perfect for parent-child outings, I could take you guys," Xia Wanying offered eagerly.
As she spoke, the scooter rolled over another speed bump, causing Xia Wanying on the rear seat to bounce once more.
She pressed herself tightly against Wang Han.
The pressure left Wang Han's mind spinning with stray thoughts.
"We'll see when the time comes," Wang Han gave a noncommittal answer.
Xia Wanying immediately pressed on, "Then if you have time, let's keep in touch, okay?"
"Sure."
Xia Wanying continued, "If you really don't have time to watch the kid, you can leave Guoguo with me. I don't have anything to do this weekend anyway."
Thinking it over, Wang Han decided her plan was quite viable. "No problem!"
After a journey full of bumps and jolts, when Xia Wanying stepped off the scooter, she noticed Wang Han staring fixedly at her chest.
Her face flushed crimson.
"Brother Wang, what are you looking at?"
Shyly, Wang Han retracted his gaze. "The ride must have been too bumpy just now—the pads you stuffed inside shifted and popped out."
Chapter 32: The Pad Popped Out
To prepare for seeing Wang Han today, Xia Wanying had meticulously spruced herself up.
Figuring that men universally preferred larger chests, she had tucked in a pair of silicone inserts to make her already full cleavage appear even more dramatic and upright.
She never imagined that all the bouncing along the way would dislodge one of the pads, causing it to slip right out.
Xia Wanying's face burned bright red. Mortified, she quickly shoved the stray pad back into place.
Pretending to check his phone, Wang Han said, "Got to go pick up some more orders now, I'm heading out."
"Ride safely, Brother Wang!"
"Will do."
Watching Wang Han ride off into the distance, Xia Wanying looked down at her chest and stamped her foot in mortification. "Brother Wang must think I'm totally flat-chested now! I need to find a chance to prove to him that I'm naturally well-endowed!"
After a busy afternoon, Wang Han picked up Guoguo and headed home.
He opened the front door, holding Guoguo in his arms.
And immediately saw a woman walking out of the bathroom.
Her milky-white, delicate body was completely bare.
With a breathtaking figure, exquisitely slender yet voluptuously toned, and wet hair draped over her shoulders, she looked like a water lily emerging from the pond—stunningly gorgeous.
"What the fuck! Put some clothes on, will you!"
The moment Wang Han caught sight of her, he instinctively covered Guoguo's eyes.
Leaning against the doorframe, the woman struck a seductive pose, licking the back of her hand like a cat. "It's not like she's never seen a naked body before, what are you getting so excited about? Or is it that you haven't seen me in so long you're getting all worked up down there?"
"There's a kid present," Wang Han said, using his foot to kick the door shut.
The woman was none other than the Capital's elite Grand Princess, Jiang Tang.
Tugging a bath towel over her to cover her vital areas, Jiang Tang cat-walked gracefully toward them and blew a puff of air right into Wang Han's face. "Whose little brat is this?"
"My daughter."
Jiang Tang froze.
Wang Han lowered his hand from Guoguo's eyes. "I told you I was married, but you wouldn't believe me."
Jiang Tang pinched Guoguo's soft cheek. "Say 'Mama'."
Wang Han felt utterly thunderstruck.
Guoguo blinked her wide, watery eyes in confusion, clearly still too young to comprehend the complex world of adults.
