To be frank, Lin Yang did not want to agree to Ruan Mi's proposal. He was in need of money, and he knew Ruan Mi was trying to help him in her own way. Yet precisely for that reason, Lin Yang could not bring himself to accept. In Lin Yang's heart, Ruan Mi was both his boss and his friend. He did not want to turn their relationship into a monetary one. Meeting Ruan Mi's expectant gaze, Lin Yang smiled wryly and said, "Sister Mi, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't plan to agree!" As expected, Ruan Mi was deeply disappointed. The expectant light in her watery eyes began to dim bit by bit until it completely extinguished. Ruan Mi felt like crying. An ache gripped her heart. It felt as though someone was squeezing her chest tightly, hurting her to the point of suffocation. Yet she still smiled, though the smile was terribly forced.
