Incense offerings could not be obtained casually; they required absolute sincerity. Therefore, Yang Chan took it upon herself to find a deserted, abandoned temple to serve as Nezha's shrine. She placed the clay statue of Nezha inside the main hall and disguised herself as the temple keeper, drawing lots and easing people's worries. For a time, the offerings of incense were actually quite plentiful.
