Catching sight of Lynn Jones heading in his direction, Tamazawa Shuxin hurriedly climbed onto the bed and pretended to be fast asleep. However, the man did not enter; instead, the sound of the bedroom door being locked echoed from outside. Listening until all movement outside had completely ceased, Tamazawa Shuxin got up and stuffed various useful items into his pockets. Right now, he needed to wait for daylight to find someone to unlock the door—acting prematurely would only alert the enemy.
Early in the morning, Sister Yuna woke the children. "Yuna, leave Burt and Alger out of it for now; don't call them just yet." Though puzzled, Sister Yuna strictly obeyed the director's order. "Here is the key. I locked the door because I was afraid Burt couldn't bear to part with them and would go along." After handing over the key, Lynn Jones hurried out. Still feeling uneasy, Sister Yuna picked up the breakfast and went to check on them.
"Burt, why are we locked in our room?" Alger Jones asked, sitting aggrievedly on the bed. Tamazawa Shuxin did not tell Alger the truth. "Madam Yuna will definitely come by. When she does, Alger, I need your help." Tamazawa Shuxin leaned in close to Alger Jones to explain the plan, then looked out the window at the front gate. "It's all up to you, Alger."
