Chapter 12

As soon as she returned to the classroom, Yao Na'er was nowhere to be seen.
Xiao Ye and Huang Li were napping with their heads down on their desks. It wasn't until the bell rang for morning reading that the two of them slowly woke up.
Yao Na'er hurried into the classroom just as the bell for morning reading rang, panting as she sat down in her seat.
Liu Yiqian timely handed her a bottle of water, and after taking a gulp of water, Yao Na'er finally caught her breath. The moment she finished catching her breath, she blurted out, "I found out!"
"Found out what?" Huang Li asked, still groggy.
"About that woman today, the one wearing eight hundred bucks on her feet."
Xiao Ye yawned, looking half-asleep, her voice carrying the lazy, languid tone of someone who had just woken up: "Why are you asking about her?"
Only Liu Yiqian was completely clueless: "What eight hundred bucks on her feet?"
Yao Na'er waved her hand dismissively: "I'll tell you later."
Yao Na'er leaned forward and tapped the backs of Xiao Ye and Huang Li's chairs, signaling them to listen to the information she had gathered: "Oh, come on~ 'Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated in a hundred battles'!"
"Then spit it out!" Xiao Ye, still not fully awake, said limply as she lay across her desk, her tone carrying a spoiled, coquettish edge.
Yao Na'er rested her hands on top of each other on the desk, keeping her body leaned forward as she rapidly spilled the details she had gathered: "That woman's name is Wang Qing, from Class 129 of the second year. She's got one more 'two' than Brother Yi."
"..."
"She's seventeen this year, from a wealthy family, so she always has a bunch of people following her around..."
"Get to the point!" Huang Li propped up her head and couldn't help interrupting her.
"Hey! Don't be so impatient! We're getting right to the point." Yao Na'er was very displeased with Huang Li's interruption.
Then, looking mysterious, she asked, "Do you guys know who her dad is?"
Huang Li rolled her eyes and made a bold guess: "Ultraman?"
"..." Yao Na'er paused speechlessly, "It's not that exaggerated! Her dad is the director of our city's Education Bureau!!"
"When she was a freshman, another girl accidentally stained her clothes, which cost over six hundred bucks. Just like today, she hurled a bunch of nasty insults, demanded compensation, and ended up forcing the girl to drop out of school!"
Huang Li's hazy eyes gained a trace of clarity and seriousness as she looked at her.
Even Xiao Ye, who had been lying on her desk with her eyes closed, opened them and looked at her with a serious expression.
Liu Yiqian, on the other hand, asked in utter shock: "Is it really that exaggerated!?"
Yao Na'er turned to look at him and nodded solemnly: "It's just that exaggerated!"
Then she explained how the whole thing came about: "Word has it that the girl came from a poor family and couldn't afford to pay for those clothes, and she even got cornered and beaten up by Wang Qing and her gang at school a few times. It caused quite a stir back then and had a pretty bad impact, even alerting the principal."
"Later, the principal invited them all to the principal's office, and no one knows what was actually discussed. But ever since then, no one in school has ever seen that girl again!"
"Hmph!" Huang Li let out a sarcastic laugh!
Liu Yiqian said indignantly: "That's just too irresponsible, isn't it?"
Yao Na'er gave two "heh"s!
"Looks like we really went and provoked someone formidable, then!" Only Xiao Ye propped her chin in her hand, giving a casual sigh of remark with a nonchalant tone, while that wicked smile reappeared at the corner of her mouth.
As if remembering something, Huang Li raised an eyebrow and locked eyes with her: "Looks that way, yes."
"How can you two not be panicking at all?" Yao Na'er was completely baffled. When she first heard this story, she had nearly scared herself out of her wits, terrified that she might accidentally get expelled.
Xiao Ye still said nonchalantly: "What's there to panic about? It's not like we aren't going to pay for it."
"No, where am I supposed to get that kind of money!" Yao Na'er buried her face in her crossed arms on the desk and said helplessly, "Don't tell me you expect me to go sell my blood and kidneys!"
