"Holy crap!"
This was definitely not something he should be looking at!
Even though he and Yang Rong were similar in age and shared no blood relation, they had grown up together like siblings. How could he possibly harbor such twisted thoughts?
Yang Fan was startled and nearly lost his composure!
He quickly tapped his brow with his knuckles, shutting off the X-ray Vision he had accidentally activated.
"Yang Fan? What’s wrong?"
Hearing the commotion, Yang Rong turned off the shower and called out from inside the bathroom.
"No... nothing! Third Sister, are you done? I need to use the bathroom." Yang Fan’s face flushed red, unsure if it was from holding his bladder or from nearly seeing something he shouldn't have.
"Yes, yes, I'm coming out right now."
As soon as Yang Rong said this, the sound of her getting dressed could be heard from inside.
At the very last second, just as Yang Fan felt his bladder might burst, the door finally opened.
He didn't have the luxury of feeling embarrassed now. He dove into the bathroom and relieved himself for over half a minute, feeling such a rush of relief that he felt lightheaded.
Just then, Yang Rong’s voice drifted in from outside: "Yang Fan, are you hungry? I can make you some noodles."
Noodles...
Yang Fan gulped, his mind wandering to the gutter.
"Damn it, have some self-respect!" he cursed himself under his breath, then raised his voice to answer, "I’ll pass, Third Sister. I’m a bit tired today, so I’m just going to shower and go to bed."
With that, Yang Fan reached back and turned on the shower, intending to take a cold rinse to cool his internal fire.
But that was a mistake; the moment he turned it on, half his shoulder was scalded red!
"Good grief, the water is so hot—how did Third Sister stand it for so long? Her skin must be peeling off!"
Yang Fan muttered, readjusting the water temperature.
Only after the water turned completely cool did he give himself a quick rinse and apply some body wash, hoping to clear his mind of those distracting thoughts.
Back in his bedroom, Yang Fan lay on the bed feeling light and refreshed, his mind sharper than ever.
*Ding!*
A WeChat notification sounded.
"Is this family ever going to give it a rest?"
Yang Fan frowned, assuming it was another bombardment from Liu Dan, but when he picked up his phone, the flashing WeChat username read "First Eye of Fengcheng"!
[Yang Fan, Yang Fan, are you free tomorrow?]
[What's up?]
[Come with me to the Wanbo Gambling Stone Market! It’s an emergency—I’m begging you!!!]
Wanbo?
Yang Fan rested his hands behind his head, staring at the ceiling and pondering.
He knew the place. It was arguably the largest jade gambling market in Fengcheng. Rumor had it that there were several backers behind it, each more powerful than the last; anyone without significant wealth wouldn't dare step foot inside.
But Yang Fan didn't care about that. He only felt that he had turned a misfortune into a blessing by gaining X-ray Vision. The most important thing now was to find a way to make money—lots and lots of money!
Only then would he have the ability to withstand unknown risks and protect the people he cared about.
Although he had made a million today as a test run, the value of antiques was tied to their cost. He couldn't just "pick up leaks" every single day, nor could he count on running into a collector like Old Qin every time...
By comparison.
Jade gambling was the fastest way to make money!
[Fine.]
[Yay, yay, yay! See you at Wanbo tomorrow at nine in the morning!]
Yang Fan glanced at the playful emoji on the screen, the corners of his mouth curling up.
Although he didn't know much about jade gambling, antiques and stones were two sides of the same coin, and he knew the basics.
For instance, raw stones that yielded green were a huge score, and then there were things like "glass-type" or "spring-and-colorful" jade... this stuff made money much faster than antiques!
He turned off his phone, pulled up his quilt, and enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep.
The next morning, he headed to the jade gambling market next to the antique street.
The layout was similar to the antique street. Just past the entrance were stalls lined up one after another, with vendors on both sides shouting their wares.
After passing through the rows of raw stone stalls and walking another two hundred meters, Yang Fan reached his destination.
The Wanbo Gambling Stone Market was massive. The main hall alone was over five hundred square meters. Inside, ten stalls were set up, each displaying dozens of raw stones of varying sizes, with three staff members stationed nearby.
There were quite a few gamblers in the hall, circling the ten stalls. Some used small flashlights to inspect the stones, some held and stroked them, while others complained about the price while handing over cash to have them cut.
"Yang Fan!"
Just as Yang Fan was getting interested, a lovely, girlish voice came from behind him.
He turned around to see a pair of large, watery eyes. Beneath a high, slender nose were lips as delicate and vibrant as rose petals.
"You are unbelievable. I’ve been waiting for you outside for ages, so why did you come in by yourself?" Wen Wan pouted, her large eyes filled with such grievance that Yang Fan felt a bit embarrassed.
"I thought you were already inside."
Yang Fan scratched his head, trying to think of how to appease the girl, but she changed the subject faster than flipping a book. "Yang Fan, I showed the Dzi bead to my dad yesterday, and he said it was a fake too!"
"So..."
At this point, Wen Wan blinked her big eyes and gave a mysterious smile. "I’ve decided to team up with you to form the 'Heavenly Eye Duo' and sweep through all of Fengcheng!"
"This stone market today will be our team’s first battlefield!"
Her train of thought was jumping so fast that Yang Fan couldn't quite keep up...
But before he could react, an old acquaintance appeared in front of them—
"You old snake! You scammed me at the Brocade Pavilion yesterday, and I haven't even had the chance to settle the score with you. How dare you have the nerve to loiter in front of me?!"
Zhou Lin and two of his underlings stood there, glaring at Yang Fan with gloomy expressions.
Yang Fan frowned, seeing the stance he was taking; it was clear he was looking for trouble.
And sure enough!
The next moment, Zhou Lin gave his underlings a look and ordered, "You two, toss this kid out of Wanbo. I don't want him ruining my mood for gambling!"
As he watched the two underlings closing in, Yang Fan weighed his options: should he put up a fight, or avoid the conflict and find another place?
Just then, a slender figure stepped in front of him and roared with adorable ferocity:
"Yang Fan is under my protection! Let’s see who dares to touch him!"
