Gongfeng Manor stood right beside the imperial palace, surrounded by heavily guarded perimeters. Pedestrians on the streets were few, and those who did pass by walked in hurried strides, not daring to linger even for a moment. The eastern district of the imperial city was home to the estates of Zhao Country's nobles and top court officials, while the western district primarily housed government offices and the municipal magistracy. Heading south from the front gates of the imperial palace led straight to the bustling commercial quarter, which was the liveliest area in the capital of Zhao Country. Zhao Yi and Princess Qingyue set out traveling light without any attendants, heading directly for the southern district. Here, shops stood in rows, people came and went in an endless stream, and carriages and horses wove together like a moving dragon. Although the sky was growing dark, pedestrians flowed through the streets like a current. Some were carefully selecting goods, others were bargaining with shopkeepers, and occasionally the singing of a songstress drifted over, painting a picture of bustling prosperity.
